Li Qin earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Zhejiang University in 2006 and an M.Sc. from Utrecht University in 2007. Upon graduation, he worked briefly on B2B market analysis at the Vilnius office of Euromonitor International, an independent strategic market research provider. After returning to China in 2007, Li became head of R&D on cryogenics at Shanxi Energy Industries Group Co., Ltd. From November 2009 until early 2015, he served as a lecturer at Shanxi University of Finance and Economics. In February 2015, Li founded Sennotech in Shenzhen.

Liu Long graduated from Northwestern Polytechnic University based in Xi'an in 2010. The Information and Computing Science graduate went on to the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to pursue a PhD in Microwave Remote Sensing in 2015. He stayed on at the IRSA as a research fellow with funding support from the Youth Science Fund program under the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2016, he co-founded agtech startup McFly with two Wuhan University alumni who are also experts in remote sensing technology.

Founder and CEO of Tigerobo, Chen Ye holds a PhD in Information Systems and Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2004–2007). From 2007–2015, he worked in the US as research scientist in Microsoft, eBay and Yahoo. During this period, he published over 20 papers. In 2015, he returned to China. Before founding Tigerobo in 2017, he was senior vice-president of products and marketing at Meituan-Dianping, China’s largest on-demand online service provider, heading its advertisement team for three years, raising its annual advertisement revenue from RMB 10m to RMB 4bn.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University graduate Jin Chaohui isthe co-founder and COO of Zhaimi , the largest online shopping platform for college students in China, providing local facilities and services for over 20 million students from about 2,600 universities.  In July 2016, he launched Xiaoming Bike, reckoning the market was growing and there was a room for a new player, especially since the two first-movers, Ofo and Mobike, were weak in controlling production costs and their market positioning.

Ren earned his doctorate in Data Mining from the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Peking University. Prior to co-founding Koala Reading, he worked at IBM China, where he worked on AI-based healthcare solutions provider Watson for Life Service; Sohu's Big Data Center, where he did R&D on its advertising recommendation system; and Microsoft Research Asia, where he helped develop the Chinese handwriting input model for Windows 10.

From 1997 to 2001, Li Guibin finished his undergraduate studies at the Harbin Institute of Technology.In November 2004, he went to work at Alibaba as R&D manager on wireless technology for its sub-brands including Yahoo China, Koubei.com, Taobao.com and Fliggy.com.He left Alibaba in July 2014 and co-founded neighborhood social app Youlin with ex-Alibaba colleague Yang Renbin. They went on to set up edtech platform Intelligent Learning in January 2018, with Li as CTO and Yang as CEO.

Founded in 2014, Desun Capital is the largest private investment firm in Sichuan province. With over RMB 1 billion under management, Desun conducts investments across all stages from seed/angel to IPO. It plans to go public in the next five years and become one of the most influential investment firms in China.

Founder of NYSE-listed Chinese online classifieds/marketplace giant 58.com, Yao Jinbo graduated from China Ocean University in 1999 with dual degrees in computer science and chemistry. He founded 58.com in 2005. He has experience in network marketing, network channel development and domain name strategy. Yao also co-founded Xueda Education Group.

Ventek Ventures is a venture capital firm based in Los Angeles, USA. It focuses on tech investments, particularly in USA, China and Southeast Asia. Seekmi, its first foray in Southeast Asia, joins Ventek’s existing stable of East Asian investments including coding for kids codeSpark, crowdfunding academy ganfund, restaurant cloud services provider Foodomo and mobile creative suite Kdan.  

Sky9 Capital is founded by the former co-founder and managing director of Lightspeed China Partners, Cao Darong. As an early-stage venture capital firm, it focuses on investing in TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications), especially Internet innovation and enterprise services. The company has a strong presence in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Silicon Valley in the US.

Established in 2014 by Niu Wenwen, chief editor, president and publisher of Entrepreneur magazine, Dark Horse Ventures invests in early-stage startups in the internet, consumption upgrade, pan-entertainment and high-tech fields. Singtel Innov8 is the venture arm of Singapore-based telecommunications company Singtel. It invests in companies that can potentially bolster Singtel's own capabilities in communications technologies, media services and customer experience. Innov8 has invested in companies at home and abroad, including in Indonesia, China, the USA and Israel. It has made exits through the sale of its portfolio companies (Viki and Tempo.AI) and via IPOs.

Dou received her master's degree in International Chinese Language Education from Shandong University in 2014. She worked in the TCSL (Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) sector for over 10 years, including as a TCSL teacher at the Confucius Institute in South Korea, as product manager at the Confucius Institute Headquarters and the Open University of China and as teacher at Shandong University. Before founding Funnybean Technology, parent company of M Mandarin, in 2016, she helped design the app Hello HSK - a platform for foreigners to learn and prepare for the HSK tests.

Feng Zifeng read Engineering at South China Agricultural University in 2014. In 2015, he incorporated the idea of emerging 3D printing technology into his college innovation project. He and a few friends created a 3-in-1 printer with 3D printing and scanning functions.In 2016, he led the team to conduct research to apply 3D printing technology in the footwear industry. He met Zhou Zhiheng, China’s general manager for footwear brand Michael Antonio. He decided to focus on using 3D printing technology in footwear industry and became a co-founder of 4D ShoeTech.
