Founded in Beijing in 2010 with a registered capital of RMB 12m, Hongdao Capital manages six RMB funds and one US dollar fund, totaling RMB 2bn. It has invested in over 80 companies, including unicorns Ofo, WeDoctor, Wecash, and Renrendai.com. The sectors it has invested in include, internet-based finance, corporate services, healthcare and AI. Its investment size ranges from RMB 500,000 to RMB 50m. 

Founded in 2017, Rekanext Capital Partners Pte Ltd is an early-stage VC firm based in Singapore and Jakarta. UK-based Portuguese unicorn Farfetch is a global omni-channel marketplace for luxury fashion, ranging from established brands to cult and emerging designers. Entrepreneur José Neves started the company in 2007 to enable small designers and fashion retailers to become global players through a single online marketplace. Farfetch participated in the 2019 seed investment round for Didimo, a Portuguese 3D digital twin animation production startup based in Porto.

Bright Pixel is a Portuguese company of angel investors, established in 2016, owned by the investment division of one of Portugal's largest companies, retailer Sonae Group.To date, it has invested in six companies at the early-stage. Its most recent investments include in the €2m seed round of US security tech Fyde and in the €550,000 seed round of Portuguese online security tech Probely.

Sony is a Japanese multinational conglomerate established in 1946. It has a high number of acquisitions, investing in more than 20 tech startups and companies manufacturing technology products. It also has a seed investment fund, Seed Acceleration Program, launched in April 2014 to promote ideas that are beyond existing business categories and develop them for commercialization.

Forebright Capital originates from the PE investment team established in 2001 under the state-owned China Everbright which is listed in Hong Kong. Everbright was spun off in May 2014 as an independent company. With money raised from institutional investors and family offices at home and abroad, Forebright Capital currently manages four US-dollar funds. It mainly invests in sectors of clean energy, healthcare and fintech.

The Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, also known as Maharatna ONGC, is the largest crude oil and natural gas company in India, contributing around 75% of India’s domestic production. It has committed to carbon reduction initiatives and has 15 projects that can potentially reduce total emissions equivalent to 2.1m tons of CO2 annually. String Bio is its first tech startup investment, part of the Series A round in 2019.

Founded in Nairobi in 2017, Chandaria Capital invests in African tech and non-tech startups across market segments. It currently has 13 companies in its portfolio. Recent investments include Kenyan diagnostics medtech startup Ilhara Health’s $3.8m Series A round in 2020 and $735,000 seed funding in 2019. The VC has also joined the seed investment round for Kenyan food and beverage startup Savannah Brand in 2019.

Indonesia's largest media conglomerate, Kompas Gramedia controls the country's national newspaper, Kompas, and operates the country's biggest bookstore chain, Gramedia. It also runs its own publishing house, Gramedia Pustaka Utama. With Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, Kompas Gramedia co-founded tech incubator and coworking space Skystar Ventures. The media conglomerate also backed Skystar Capital, a separate and independent investment arm from Skystar Ventures. Kompas Gramedia was founded in 1965.

Xiaomi is one of the biggest mobile manufacturers in China and also actively invests in emerging startups. It had backed more than 300 companies as of March 2021, totaling RMB 32.3Bn in book value. Through such investments, the company has already built an ecosystem of the internet of things.

Kaszek Ventures is an Argentinian VC co-founded in 2011 by Hernan Kazah and Nicolas Szekasy, both hailing from Latin America’s e-commerce success story MercadoLibre. Starting with $95m, the VC made its first investment in Brazilian fintech, Nubank. The VC now has over 159 investments and has managed 21 exits. It mainly focuses on B2C solutions, mobile, healthcare technology, retail and media.The most recent Kaszek investment is in Latin America’s leading crypto platform Bitso, co-leading Bitso’s $62m Series B round with QED Investors. Managing partner Szekasy has also joined Bitso’s board. Existing shareholders Coinbase Ventures and Pantera Capital joined the Bitso round.In 2019, Kaszek raised two new funds securing a total of $600m to invest in later-growth stage companies to tap into Latin America’s rapidly maturing tech ecosystems. The rollout of 4G has also helped to speed up the adoption of new technologies across the region, according to Kazah.

Set up in 2002 by Patrice Hoppenot 15 years after he founded European investment fund BC Partners, Investisseurs & Partenaires (I&P) is an impact investor seeking to help SMEs prosper in Africa and create sustainable jobs and income there. With about €210m raised to date, I&P finances SMEs, startups and regional investment funds in Africa through equity participation and loans, as well as through microfinance institutions. Its I&P Acceleration Technologies focuses on digital startups with €2.5m of funding to be invested in 10–15 startups in 2020–2023. To date, I&P has supported more than 100 capital-funded companies and 20 companies benefiting from subsidized acceleration programs. I&P has about 100 staff based in Paris, Washington D.C. and in seven African offices (Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Madagascar, Niger and Senegal).

Utrust (Guangdong Yuecai Venture Capital Co., Ltd.) was founded in 1995. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Guangdong Yuecai Investment Co., Ltd., which is authorized by the Guangdong government to manage state-owned capital. With the support of the government of Guangdong province, Utrust invests in many Guangdong-based companies. By the end of December 2017, Utrust had managed capital of over RMB 4.3 billion with assets exceeding RMB 900 million.
