Co-founder and CTO of Wide Eyes
Describing himself as an entrepreneur with a strong technical background, Miguel Pousa is a co-founder and CTO of Wide Eyes, a visual search engine for the fashion and retail industry. Pousa studied Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Vigo before specializing in Computer Vision and AI for his master's at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His master's thesis focused on 3D hand pose recognition that was based on work done during his internship at Oblong Industries in Barcelona.

Having earned his master’s degree in Optical Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University, Lin received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008. In May 2008, he joined NEC Labs America, where he performed research on machine learning and computer vision. In November 2015, Lin was made director of Baidu’s Institute of Deep Learning. In March 2017, he was promoted to head of Baidu Research. Six months after being promoted, Lin left Baidu to found Aibee.

Finnish native Pia Henrietta Moon, has been a scout leader since 2003. Her first job was in event management and tourism operations in India for Sunset Getaways & Insta tourism in 2007. While studying at the University of Economics and Business in Vienna, she met American engineer Christopher Carstens in 2013 at a global solutions innovation program organized by Singularity University in California. She left university in 2014 and co-founded Carbo Culture as CEO in 2016 with Carstens as CTO.In 2016, Moon also joined the electronics company Yleiselektroniikka as a board member, the youngest person in Finland to hold such a position in a listed company. Moon also founded edtech startup Mehackit in 2013 and became its chairwoman for four years. She exited both companies in 2018 to focus on running Carbo Culture.While at university, Moon also worked for over two years at Rails Girls, a not-for-profit for women in tech. In Finland, she joined the student entrepreneurship society in 2011 and completed an internship in 2010 at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. In 2015, she joined the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers youth community initiative in Helsinki.

He specializes in computer vision, document image analysis and color science. In 2007, he co-founded TruColour in the UK, where he currently is a member of the board of directors. In 2013, he was awarded the IAPR/ICDAR Young Investigator Award “for outstanding service and innovative research in human perception-based document analysis.” Karatzas also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and University of Southampton in the UK. Since 2019, he has been part of the co-founding team of Allread MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning.

He has an MBA from Northwestern University and had also worked for the transition team that assisted the Indonesian President Joko Widodo in 2014.
