iFLYTEK is a Chinese software company that specializes in speech technology such as speech synthesis and speech recognition. Established in 1999, iFLYTEK was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008. With products like iFLYTEK Voice Input and iFLYTEK ViaFly, it has cornered more than 70% of the Chinese speech technology market. iFLYTEK has made investments in over 60 AI companies in the education, healthcare, loT, connected car and robotics sectors, where its products can be widely applied.

Huang is co-founder and CEO of TTPOD, a cross-platform music player. He co-founded TTPOD in 2007, which, by 2013, had accumulated 200 million users and was subsequently sold to Alibaba Group. In 2015, Huang became COO of Baofeng Mojing, a VR device creator controlled by Shenzhen-listed internet company Baofeng Group. In 2016, Baofeng Mojing sold 2 million VR devices. Huang participated in Kuaipeilian's seed funding round.

Xingwang Investment has RMB 5 billion under management. It has established an investment fund with Ximalaya FM, China's largest audio sharing platform, to finance startups in the pay-for-knowledge sector.

Billing itself as the "world's first venture builder focused on the real estate and construction sectors," Construtech Ventures is a Brazilian investor and venture builder established in 2017 in Florianópolis. To date, it has invested in 11 companies, all of them local with the exception of Portuguese Infraspeak. Its most recent investments are in Infraspeak's seed round and in real estate marketplace EmCasa's Series A round. The company also has a second office in São Paulo.

Founded in October 1962, Mando Corporation is a South Korean automotive parts manufacturer. It supplies many automobile manufacturers worldwide, including General Motors, Volkswagen, Chrysler, Ford, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki and Chevrolet. With more than 11,000 staff, Mando Corporation produces 4m automotive parts per year, generating annual sales of US$4.74bn in 2018. The company was listed on the Korea Stock Exchange in May 2010; its controlling shareholder is Halla Holdings Corp.

Founded in 2007 in Shanghai, CTC Capital currently has branches in Beijing, Suzhou and Taipei. The company invests in both US dollars and RMB and has three funds under its management. It mainly targets the TMT, clean energy and consumer product sectors. Half of its management team have many years experience working in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. In 2019, CTC Capital set up the Guodiao Guoxin Zhixin Fund to invest in the semiconductor integrated circuit sector.

Alexander von Schirmeister is an angel investor and Executive VP Europe of mobile payments company SumUp. In 2017, he participated in the first seed round of Spanish AI-driven femtech Woom, his only disclosed investment to date.The German native has worked at Spanish telco Telefonica and held various executive roles in the US. He was a manager at eBay and became an executive director on the Board of eBay International.

Evonik Venture Capital is the investment arm of Evonik Industries AG, a chemicals specialty provider in Germany. The firm also has offices in the US and China.With a fund size of €250m, Evonik has made more than 30 investments since 2012. The VC mainly invests in sectors such as nutrition & care, specialty additives and smart materials. Its portfolio includes early to growth stage startups, with investments of €15m per portfolio company.

Founded in 1980, INELCOM is a large Spanish manufacturing company that specializes in hardware, including microelectronics, optoelectronics and digital signal processors. It does not typically invest in tech startups, and, to date, its only declared investment has been in Valencian accessibility hardware and app for the deaf, Visualfy, to which it has contributed pre-seed and seed funding rounds totalling just over €3m. It is the startup’s industrial partner and manufactures its hardware.   

Launched in 2013, Japan’s Rakuten Capital is the corporate venture capital arm of conglomerate Rakuten. It manages a range of funds, such as the early-stage Rakuten Ventures, Rakuten Fintech Fund, and Rakuten Mobility Investments. Its portfolio covers a broad range of companies, including C2C e-commerce platform Carousell, ride-hailing unicorn Gojek, and video game vouchers platform CodaPay. Notable exits include the IPOs of US-based ride hailing company Lyft and image sharing site Pinterest.

Josep Ma Moyà is a Barcelona-based angel investor with a consulting background. He invests in and advises locally-based startups in different market segments. To date, he has invested in five startups. The most recent in 2019 was in the €2m seed round of Psquared, Spain’s first flexible workplace management and design company for hybrid workspaces. In 2017, he invested in Kognia Sports Intelligence, an automated software for real-time and post-match football analysis.

SC Ventures is the venture capital arm of Standard Chartered Bank. The company serves as a platform from which Standard Chartered can identify innovative technologies in banking and financial services, and invest in the companies that build these technologies and business models. Besides investments, SC Ventures also operates an accelerator program named eXellerator and an internal venture builder unit. As an investor, SC Ventures focuses on Series B+ rounds, with each investment at the $1-5m range.

Ex-Djarum employee Frandy Wirajaya Sugianto holds a Master of Management degree in Creative Marketing from the University of Surabaya (UBAYA). He joined clove cigarette manufacturer Djarum’s Sales and Marketing division in 2001 and worked for 10 years before being hired as the CEO of Infokost.id in 2011. In 2013, Frandy became the CEO of Global Visi Media (GVM) Networks, which includes companies such as Opini.id and Bolalob.com. Infokost.id is a company under GDP Venture group, founded and owned by Martin Hartono. The Hartono family also owns Djarum, Indonesia’s biggest cigarette manufacturer.

Nanyang Technological University of Singapore MBA graduate Afia Fitriati holds a bachelor’s in Marketing from Syracuse University, USA. Post-MBA, she held various roles in different companies, including as an editor at Aquila Magazine and a lecturer in Islamic Marketing at Paramadina University. She co-founded FAST8, a human resources tech company, in 2008 with her husband, Else Fernanda. They also founded Gadjian, an HR management SaaS startup. Currently, Afia is also a senior associate in the Halal Lifestyle Market at DinarStandard, a growth strategy research and advisory firm.

Graduating with a bachelor’s in Business Management and Finance from the Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in Indonesia, Aditya Hadiputra became the CFO of Utoyo & Partners in August 2011. He left the financial services company with its founding partner Marshall Utoyo in 2013. They decided to set up a coworking space hub Conclave in Jakarta, together with two other graduates from ITB. Based in Jakarta, Aditya has been CFO of Conclave since January 2013. He has also been working as an investment associate since July 2015 at MDI Ventures, Telkom’s venture capital arm.
