Nigerian investment bank and investor CardinalStone Partners was founded in 2008. It invests in enterprises with the potential to transform diverse sectors deemed to be strategic to the development of the economies in Nigeria, Ghana and other West African countries.The VC also reviews potential investments in relation to their ESG impact. CardinalStone currently has six companies in its portfolio including Nigerian gym chain i-Fitness and Nigerian fintech Appzone. In 2020, it raised $50m for a new private equity fund, CardinalStone Capital Advisers Growth Fund. 

Ufi Ventures is the investment arm of Ufi VocTech Trust, a UK-based grant-funding body created following the sale of Learndirect in 2010. With an initial fund of £50m, the organization is focussed on delivering an increase in the scale of vocational learning. The firm can invest from £150,000 to £1m as equity or debt in early-stage companies. To date, its disclosed investments include many UK public-private training initiatives, plus seed investments in two tech startups: soft-skills VR software Bodyswaps (£470,000) and childcare marketplace Kinderly (£325,000). 

M Capital Partners is a leading private equity firm in the French small-cap market. It specializes in SME financing in the development and transmission phases. Based in Paris, the company has offices in Toulouse, Nice, Montepellier and Bordeaux. Founded 17 years ago, M Capital has €530m under active management. It is engaged in venture and capital investments, real estate, and impact investing. Recently it declared its aim to obtain the B Corp sustainability label, and created a foundation and several positive impact funds and moved to decarbonize its portfolio. 

The late-stage venture capital and growth equity firm founded and led by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner manages about $10bn in assets. Among its well-known investments are Facebook, Twitter, Alibaba, Xiaomi, JD.com, Spotify, Flipkart and AirBnB.DST Global was founded in 2009 as a means for Milner’s Mail.ru to continue investing at scale, by separately managing investment activities from the Mail.ru primary business. In 2012, Milner stepped down from Mail.ru to focus on DST Global, and DST Global eventually became fully independent from Mail.ru.

Founded in Hong Kong in 2018, Lake Bleu Capital currently operates in both Hong Kong and Shanghai. With assets worth billions of US dollars under management, it mainly invests in pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical devices and healthcare services companies in Asia, especially Greater China. Its limited partners include sovereign wealth funds, university endowments, foundations, pension funds, and family offices across the world.With a long-term investment strategy, Lake Bleu Capital invests through both public and private equity with a focus on mid- to late-stage companies.

RakSul is a Japanese online and outsourcing commercial printing services platform, with almost US$72 million in total equity funding in August 2016. Its US$350,000 Prinzio seed investment is its first venture outside Japan, giving it a 20% stake in the Indonesian printing startup.Founder and CEO Yasukane Matsumoto is set to acquire more printing start-ups in the Philippines and Singapore as part of the expansion into Southeast Asia. The Tokyo-based startup is often dubbed the Uber of printing, with flyers accounting for 60% of total print orders. It expected to start making profits in 2016.

Established in July 2009, GP Capital was co-funded by Shanghai International Group, Jiangsu Shagang Group, Huatai Securities and Hengdian Group. It specializes in establishing and managing industrial investment funds and private equity funds. GP Capital manages the RMB 20 billion Shanghai Financial Development Investment Fund. The Fund was sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government with approval from the State Council and National Development and Reform Commission. Half of GP Capital's investment has gone to financial firms. It also invests in sectors such as consumer products, healthcare, new energy, culture, etc.

KK Fund is named after Koichi Saito and Kuan Hsu. Founder and general partner Koichi was formerly from IMJ Investment Partners and a private equity fund run by George Soros. Co-founder and general partner Kuan had previously worked at Goldman Sachs, Temasek Holdings and GREE Ventures.Another KK partner or LP is Masahiko Honma, co-founder and general partner of Incubate Fund based in Japan. KK Fund focuses mainly on internet and mobile startups in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan; with possible seed stage funding ranging from US$100,000 to US$400,000 per startup.

Centurium Capital is a private equity firm specializing in investments in the healthcare and consumer sectors in China. It was founded by David Li, Warburg Pincus's former Asia head, with a US$1.5 billion hard cap. It raised US$925 million in first close in June 2018. Centurium's limited partners include GIC, China Investment Corporation and Temasek Holdings. Centurium has cooperated with UCAR and Lepu Medical Technology to set up and manage two industrial M&A funds with initial funds of over RMB 6 billion.

Russia-China Investment Fund (RCIF) is a private equity fund that invests in projects created to advance economic cooperation between Russia and China. RCIF was founded in 2012 by two government-backed funds: Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and China Investment Corporation (CIC). RCIF has received US$1 billion commitments from both RDIF and CIC. International institutional investors are expected to commit an additional US$2 billion. RCIF will invest at least 70% of its capital in Russia and CIS countries and around 30% in China.

Blanca Hernández Rodriguez holds a Master's Degree in Finance from CUNEF, a private Spanish university specializing in banking and finance that is based in Madrid. She has over 20 years’ experience in value investing. Her career started in the Arcalia group. She later established and managed a family office fund.Today, Hernández Rodriguez is the CEO of Magallanes Value Investors SA SGIIC, a Spanish asset management company offering portfolio management, equity, financial planning and advisory services. 

General Atlantic was founded in 1980 as the investment arm of Atlantic Philanthropies, and claims to be the pioneer in growth equity. The US-based company has presence all over the world, including in Indonesia, UK, China, Mexico, and Singapore. As of August 2019, it manages US$35b in assets from global investors. Some major companies that were part of GA's portfolio includes Facebook, Alibaba, Meituan, Saxo Bank, and SEA. Edtech startup Ruangguru is GA's second investment in Indonesia; the first is MAP Boga Adiperkasa, a major F&B and lifestyle conglomerate. 

Launched in 2018, Everbright New Economy USD Fund (New Economy Fund) is under the umbrella of China Everbright, a Hong Kong-listed financial conglomerate. The New Economy Fund started from an inaugural fund of US$483m, with US$150m from Bahrain-based asset manager Investcorp. It invests mainly in the e-commerce, smart retail and artificial intelligence sectors. In November 2019, China Everbright and Investcorp announced they will co-manage Investcorp New Economy Fund I and explore the opportunity to establish a successor private equity fund, jointly managed by the two parties, that will target China’s tech sector.

Originally formed in 2014 as NSI Ventures, Openspace Ventures makes investments in technology companies based in Southeast Asia. Led by Shane Chesson and Hian Goh, Openspace Ventures used to be a part of Northstar Group, a private equity firm primarily invested in the financial services, retail, energy and telecom sectors. In 2018, Chesson and Goh took NSI Ventures independent and rebranded it as Openspace Ventures. They still maintain links with Northstar, with Northstar managing partner Patrick Goh becoming senior advisor to Openspace.

Billed as the world’s first online venture capital platform, launched in 2012 in San Francisco, FundersClub is a marketplace that allows accredited investors to become equity holders in managed venture funds, which then fund pre-screened private companies. It has invested in more than 340 companies to date, valued at more than US$7.6 billion and has seen 35 exits. The platform has invested more than US$115 million to date across sectors and technologies in companies from 21 different countries. Recent investments include in SendBird's Series B, that raised US$52 million, and Zentail's Series A that raised US$5 million.
