Xiamen Torch Group Co. Ltd. provides venture capital investment, technology guarantees, engineering project construction, bonded logistics, property management, and other related services for Xiamen Torch High-tech Zone.

In 2011, young Obi Ozor used his savings and loans from his family and friends to set up Bezmo Global to import second-hand trucks from the US and sell them in Nigeria. Despite suffering from kidney failure issues, he managed to run the business for four years to earn money to pay for his medical treatments. He fully recovered and moved to Michigan to continue his education.At the University of Michigan, Ozor met Ife Oyedele II and the two friends started an e-commerce venture to sell diapers and baby soap from the US to customers in Nigeria. Ozor moved to the University of Pennsylvania and graduated with a BA International Relations and Finance at Wharton School of Business. In 2014, he gained some work experience in investment banking at JP Morgan in New York.In 2015, Ozor returned to Nigeria and joined Uber as operations coordinator. In 2016, the serial entrepreneur and his friend Oyedele co-founded Uber-style logistics platform Kobo360 in Lagos.

Moses Lo comes from an entrepreneurial family, his father acquired a failing business in Australia and turned it into a successful company. The family business inspired Lo to start his own fashion business in Australia after graduating in finance and commerce at the University of New South Wales in 2010.Lo initially gained work experience as an analyst in 2008 as part of his undergraduate finance and commerce programs in Australia. In 2011, he became an associate at the Boston Consulting Group in Australia. After two years, he was promoted to senior associate but left BCG in 2013 to focus on his menswear ventures until 2014.Lo decided to get first-hand tech startup experience in the Silicon Valley, working at Amazon while completing an MBA program at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2015, he decided to established a P2P payments platform Xendit in Indonesia. The platform has since pivoted into a payment gateway service and became a unicorn in 2021, with Lo as CEO based in California and Jakarta. He was also featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list for Asian figures in finance and venture capital in 2016.

GX Capital is a venture capital firm focusing on mid-stage investment in TMT, internet and healthcare companies. It has over RMB 3 billion of assets under management.

Aspex Management was founded in 2018 by Hermes Li Ho Kei who was previously the executive MD and Head of Asia Equities at Och-Ziff Capital Management, aka OZ Management. Prior to joining OZ in 2011 Li worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co in Hong Kong.The London School of Economics graduate is now the chief investment officer at Aspex. The Hong Kong firm focuses on equity investments in Pan-Asia, specializing in sectors with long-term market growth potential and companies undergoing structural changes.Aspex led the $64m funding round for South Korean fintech unicorn Toss in August 2019. The P2P money transfer service platform Toss is created by Viva Republica backed by PayPal. Other participants in the round included existing Toss investors Kleiner Perkins, Altos Ventures, Singapore's GIC, Sequoia Capital China, Goodwater Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners.In May 2020, Aspex also invested in another startup Market Kurly, a grocery-delivery service provider that became South Korea’s latest unicorn via the Series E funding round that secured $328m led by DST Global. In July, Aspex also joined the $900m Series C+ funding round of Xpeng Motors, Tesla’s EV rival in China.

Founded in 1993, WI Harper Group is a venture capital firm investing in early to growth stage companies across the US, Greater China and Asia Pacific. The group has invested in more than 400 companies in the fields of healthcare, biotech, artificial intelligence, robotics, fintech, sustainability and new media. It manages seven venture capital funds with over 100 successful IPO and M&A exits. With three strategic offices in San Francisco, Beijing and Taipei, the group seeks investment opportunities both in the US and Asia.

One of Silicon Valley's most prestigious venture capital firms, Sequoia Capital, was established in 1972. Sequoia’s investment thesis leads them to invest primarily in early-stage companies, but they have also invested in Series F rounds and beyond. As a former venture capital firm, it has also made exits from major internet companies, such as Google, Apple, Nvidia, and GitHub. Sequoia Capital operates divisions in Israel, Hong Kong and Mainland China. Founded by John Ball in 2000, Steamboat Ventures is Disney’s venture capital subsidiary. They invest in early through growth stage companies with specialization in digital media and consumer technology.

Indogen Capital is Indonesia’s latest VC founded in early 2017. The private fund looks for founder “athletes and shapes them into champions”, with capital injections of US$100,000 to US$500,000.VC advisor and Tokopedia co-founder, Leonitus Alpha Edison is passionate about mentoring startups on how to negotiate founder-friendly deals.The other VC partners are: Hendry Willy (Leon’s friend and founder of TokoUSB.com), private equity veteran Teezar Firmansyah, Nararya Ciputra Sastrawinata of business tycoon family in real estate and Ciputra University. Indogen’s CEO Chandra Firmanto is Leon’s childhood friend whose family business had joint ventures with Ciputra. 

Making Ideas Business was founded in 2012 by a group of 51 students and professors after the end of the 2011-2012 Master in Internet Business at ISDI, an international institution that offers training and degree programs in digital business management.Along with mentoring and industry expertise, the fund provides tech startups in the Spanish ecosystem with seed investments. It has invested €260,000 in five companies to date.The group today includes more than 78 partners and angel investors that, in total, have more than 1,000 years of professional experience and 50,000 hours of training in the internet sector.
