A member of the family that founded the Zamora Company (which owns Spanish liquor brands Martin Miller, Ramón Bilbao and Licor 43), Ángel Zamora is currently an active entrepreneur, investor and strategy consultant for several European MNCs. He has explored investment opportunities within the Spanish technology ecosystem, backing startups with global ambitions and supporting them in their overseas expansion, especially to Latin American countries. Zamora is an MBA graduate from the Darden Business School in the US. 

Established in 2011, Fenox Venture Capital (now Pegasus Tech Ventures) is a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm. It has offices across seven countries, including Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea. Its investment portfolio includes Memebox, Tech in Asia and 99.co. In Indonesia, the firm has invested in HijUp, BrideStory, Jurnal and Alodokter. Other notable investments include Airbnb, 23andMe, and Robinhood.The VC firm is the organizer of the Startup World Cup, a global pitching competition for tech startups that offers a grand prize of $1m in cash investment.

Yang Kaikai graduated in 2013, majoring in English Language and Literature at Shanghai Ocean University.In March 2016, she joined Tencent Incubator to work as a marketing and business development manager. She left Tencent in October 2016 and co-founded Energo Labs as COO, responsible for the strategic and global expansion of the company in Asia. In September 2018, Yang also co-founded Dipole Tech, a blockchain-based renewable energy management and trading platform.Yang is co-chair of the Energy Blockchain Leadership Committee and founded the Asian Cleantech Entrepreneurs Community (ACTEC) to connect entrepreneurs focusing on sustainable development and the environment. In 2019, she was nominated as one of 600 entrepreneurs 30 under 30 by the Forbes China.

Founded by the Ontario government and Ontario Teachers' Federation in 1990, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is Canada's largest single-profession pension plan. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario Teachers' also has investment offices in London, Singapore and Hong Kong. With C$204.7bn worth of assets under its management, Ontario Teachers' is responsible for the pensions of 329,000 working and retired teachers in Ontario. Its diverse global portfolio of assets generates a total-fund net return of 9.5% annually. A new investment department, Teachers’ Innovation Platform, was set up in 2019 to invest in late-stage ventures that deliver disruptive technologies.

Waldo Hartanto graduated with a BSc in Accounting and Finance in 2012 at Boston College, Wallace E Carroll Graduate School of Management. After graduation, he worked as an equity research analyst at Mandiri Sekuritas for seven months and later joined Rothschild's global financial advisory team in Jakarta.In January 2014, he moved to Singapore to work for one year at Heritas Capital Management as healthcare investment analyst. In 2015, he became the managing director of Wahyu Abadi, an Indonesian business process outsourcing company. His younger brother Walton is also at Wahyu based in Jakarta. In April 2018, both brothers co-founded Elio to focus online healthcare for men.

Since 2008, after completing a business course at Royal Roads University in Canada, Shaun Frankson has been running his own consultancy Frankson Media in Vancouver.From 2009 to 2014, Frankson worked as VP at Nero Global Tracking, a SaaS platform for mobile vehicles founded by David Katz. In 2013, the duo co-founded Plastic Bank in 2013 to launch a “Social Plastic” movement to reduce ocean plastic and set up recycling centers to create jobs to improve the livelihood of locals in under-served coastal villages. The Canadian co-founder is now the CTO of Plastic Bank. In 2014, he also became an advisor at HeroX, a social network for innovation with over 2m members.

Yale University’s Physics and Philosophy graduate Justin Kan is a tech millionaire. The American Korean became famous by broadcasting his life through a webcam on the Justin.tv website that later evolved into the global video game streaming platform Twitch. After an internship working on endless spreadsheets, Yale’s former Men of Branford Calendar model decided to become a technopreneur in 2005. He became a partner of Y Combinator in 2014 but left in 2017 to focus on Justin Kan Enterprises, Titanic’s End and Whale. He recently founded Atrium LTS and became CEO of the law services platform.

General Atlantic was founded in 1980 as the investment arm of Atlantic Philanthropies, and claims to be the pioneer in growth equity. The US-based company has presence all over the world, including in Indonesia, UK, China, Mexico, and Singapore. As of August 2019, it manages US$35b in assets from global investors. Some major companies that were part of GA's portfolio includes Facebook, Alibaba, Meituan, Saxo Bank, and SEA. Edtech startup Ruangguru is GA's second investment in Indonesia; the first is MAP Boga Adiperkasa, a major F&B and lifestyle conglomerate. 

Founded in 2012 in Geneva, Seedstars is one of the world’s largest accelerators with programs operating globally including Seedstars Global Startup Competition for emerging economies and seed-stage investors. Seedstars is also an investor, focusing on supporting startups founded in emerging economies across market segments. Its portfolio of 60 companies includes startups from its accelerator programs and participation in the $30,000 pre-seed round for Mexican loan fintech DB Menos. It is also one of two impact investors backing the $530,000 seed funding round for Bangladeshi cloud-kitchen and delivery startup Kludio.

Sky Ocean Ventures is a £25m impact investment fund and part of the Sky Media Group. It was launched in 2018 with the goal of accelerating businesses that can tackle global plastic pollution with innovative ideas and disruptive technologies. The firm has backed 20 startups that have developed solutions that help mitigate plastic disposals in the environment, such as disposable bottles made of paper, reusable delivery boxes, sachets made from seaweed and packaging made from wood chips. Sky Ocean Ventures also partners with, among others, The National Geographic and the Imperial College in London. 

Daniel Araújo first became interested in startups while earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management at Católica Porto Business School. He went on to earn his master’s in International Business Development from the American Business School in Paris. After five years working in research and analytics at Google UK and Ireland, Araújo returned to Portugal to launch startup Attentive in 2015. He also co-founded online Portuguese startup and events directory NovaWeb with his brother Pedro while at Google. Araújo is also a mentor at the accelerator Techstars and a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum's Lisbon Hub.

Pedro Trinité is the co-founder of ZUVINOVA, a B2B company that owns and operates Transactional Track Record (TTR). The premium online service provides transactional and financial information on Latin American and Iberian markets (M&A, Capital Markets, Project Finance and Acquisition Finance). Before ZUVINOVA, he was a director at Iberpartners and a business consultant for Accenture UK. Trinité received his International MBA degree from IE Business School and his master’s degree in Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior de Informática e Gestão (ISIG). He also attended the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ideabox Ventures is a VC launched by Indonesian telecoms Indosat Ooredoo, Kejora Ventures and Mountain Partners SEA in November 2016. The VC was an addition to the existing annual accelerator Ideabox program that had nurtured startups like Dealoka, Pawoon and Wobe. More venture capital is expected to come from new partnerships with global institutions in Asia, Europe and North America. Early stage or pre-Series A funding of up to US$500,000 will be awarded to each startup, as well as strategic commercial consultancy and support services to boost the expansion of the VC’s portfolio firms.

Startupbootcamp Commerce Amsterdam is part of the Startupbootcamp accelerator global group that was originally founded in Denmark in 2010. The Commerce Amsterdam programs are dedicated to early-stage startups in the e-commerce and retail verticals. They help founders during the MVP development phase and provide mentoring support across logistics solutions, fraud security, AI, big data, advertising, marketing and sales.The programs are based in a co-working space in Amsterdam and founders receive €15,000 to cover their living expenses in the city during the three-month period of intense mentorship, masterclasses and pitching opportunities.

The Mirae Asset Financial Group started in 1997 with Mirae Asset Global Investment and Mirae Asset Capital. The group's business interests focus on asset and wealth management, investments, and insurance. It has also invested in a range of companies, from logistics firm Shadowfax to AmazeVR. In 2018, it established a joint venture with Naver Corporation, one of South Korea's leading tech companies, and set up the Asia Growth Fund with $940m committed to VC investing in the region. The joint venture has backed Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab, Indonesian e-commerce platform Bukalapak, and Singapore-based credit scoring firm FinAccel.
