Founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google started out as a web search engine. It then grew into a provider of various web services (e.g., email, web publishing) and subsequently became one of the world’s biggest tech companies, standing alongside Apple, Microsoft and Amazon. Ex-Googler David Ko (Gao Heng) holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Washington University. After graduation, he joined two startups in succession of which the latter was acquired by Google.
