Michael Su is a veteran in the footwear business, an entrepreneur and a startup coach.He read Biology and Business at Washington University in St Louis from 1993 to 1998. After graduation, he worked for Morgan Stanley and Thomson Reuters for several years. Since 2017, Constanza Lucero has been the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer at Biel Glasses, a medtech startup offering relief to people with low vision. She is the mother of Biel, who was born with low vision and the impetus for the startup. She also works at Badalona Hospital as a Specialist in Internal Medicine in its Accidents and Emergencies Department. Prior to this, she worked for nine years at Barcelona's Hospital Clinic as a Specialist in Infectious Diseases, HIV and Internal Medicine. Lucero holds a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Barcelona as well as a master's in Clinical Research from the same institution. 

Michal Biernat is the Polish CTO and co-founder of medtech diagnostic hardware and app Higo Sense, where he has worked full-time since 2019. He is simultaneously founder and CEO at Bailey Consulting, a medtech consultancy for startups, also based in Warsaw. He additionally manages the medtech section at Polish tech incubator ToReforge.Prior to Higo Sense, Biernat worked for four years at Polish medtech Braster as an engineering manager and then as a product development manager. He also spent one year working as a sales engineer at engineering company AB Industry. Biernat holds a first degree and a master’s in biomedical engineering from the Warsaw Polytechnic.

Marc Rodríguez Garcia is Head of Research and co-founder of Britain’s Xampla, producer of plant-based biodegradable plastics made from protein, where he has worked full-time since it was founded in 2018. Prior to that, from late 2016 he was a postdoctoral research associate at Cambridge University’s Knowles Lab, from which Xampla was spun off.  The Spaniard has also worked as a visiting researcher for the not-for-profit Cancer Research UK.Rodríguez holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, developing a new method to synthesize oligopeptides from unactivated amino acids, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. 

Ryan Mario Yasin is an engineer, designer and sustainable fashion entrepreneur based in London. Originally from Reykjavik, Iceland, Yasin graduated in aeronautical engineering at Imperial College London and has a master’s in global innovation design from the Royal College of Art.  As a 23-year-old design student, Yasin founded materials technology startup Petit Pli, and developed the design for the company’s first product, a pleated garment that could expand up to seven sizes to last children through their first few years of life. Petit Pli now makes expandable pleated clothes for children and adults, using a fabric derived from recycled plastic and a structure inspired by origami, architecture and space satellites. Petit Pli products have won a number of prestigious awards, such as the UK James Dyson Award, Time Magazine’s best invention of 2020 and the Red Dot Product Design Award.Yasin has a strong interest in photography and in the interplay between art and engineering. In 2020, Yasin was included by Forbes in its 30 Under 30 list for Europe.
