He was also the head of mobile products at the food delivery service Lieferando.de and its parent company Takeaway.com. Between 2009 and 2013, Irzan was a bassist and also the international marketing manager for the German band “Not Called Jinx”.

He worked on building a new 3D printing technique for organs before switching to AI. To do so, Bellavista embarked on a project to apply this technology to the hospitality industry, testing it out at the Nostrum outlet, a self-service food franchise, that he co-owns. The result is Proppos FastPay, an intelligent self-checkout solution powered by computer vision. Founded in 2018, Proppos is currently finalizing pilots with international clients and preparing for its official, commercial launch in 2020.

HATCH is an aquaculture-tech-focused accelerator program initiated by the aquaculture-focused seed VC investor Alimentos Ventures to help related startups reach commercialization and access further funding. Its inaugural program was held in Bergen, Norway, followed by a second batch in Cork, Ireland. Successful applicants get €50,000 cash and possible subsequent funding, plus free office space for up to 12 months in either of HATCH's offices in Bergen and Singapore. Its international partners include food corporates, state entities and aquaculture groups.

The exorbitant cost of archiving past records and the lack of a comprehensive medical image sharing system between hospitals for a fully effective diagnosis have long raised concerns in his mind. But it was while taking his young daughter to the hospital for a health checkup, personally experiencing these issues, that Chai became ever more determined to build a cloud-based medical system – hence his founding of Eimageglobal. In 2017, Chai won the “Young Tech Giant” Award by Zhejiang Entrepreneur Committee.

He also lectures part-time at his former university Beira Interior, where UpHill was established, and is a researcher for the RISRECP, the Colombia-based Iberian Network of Researchers in Renal Health and Common Chronic Illnesses.The co-founder also helps produce clinical simulations for producer Hands on Education and holds a doctorate in Medicine from Beira Interior University.
