Founded in 2018, Kale United is a Stockholm-based ethical investor with an overriding interest in plant-based technologies. It raises funds from crowd campaigns and currently has a portfolio of 30 companies, mostly Swedish alternative meat startups. It had crowdfunded €1.34m by April 2020 for its portfolio of companies from three separate campaigns. It also has a portfolio of plant-based public shares and features a team of vegan expert investors and business leaders. Its founder, Måns Ullerstam, owns a third of the company. He is also CEO of local vegetarian food producer startup Astrid och Aporna.

KDDI Open Innovation Fund is a joint corporate VC operated by Japanese telecommunications firm KDDI and investment firm Global Brain. It forms one part of KDDI's venture programs, the other being a Japan-only accelerator program, KDDI Infinity Labo. With the support of other companies in the group, such as au Financial Holdings and Soracom, KDDI is able to provide extensive and relevant support to its portfolio companies.

Founded in 2013 by Long Wei, a co-founder of Dianping, Light-Up Capital (also known as Dianliang Fund) focuses on companies in early through growth stage with specialization in robotics, artificial intelligence, mobile internet and mobile healthcare.

In 2017, Ricardo Santos became the CEO and co-founder of Heptasense. In November 2018, the Portuguese national has also founded Rocha Capital, a private fund to invest in other startups. Santos obtained a master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Higher Technical Institute in Lisbon in 2015. He also has a degree in Biomedical Engineering and Biophysics from the University of Lisbon. Prior to co-founding Heptasense, he was a research fellow at the Portuguese Institute of Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering. He was also a Biomedical Engineering summer intern at the University of Nottingham in the UK in 2013.

Simon Hombersley is the CEO and co-founder of Britain’s Xampla, producer of plant-based biodegradable plastics made from protein, where he has worked full-time since 2018. Prior to Xampla, Hombersley worked in various UK-based engineering roles that included almost three years at Oxford Flow, an Oxford University spin-off, reducing water leakage and improving industrial efficiency.Earlier, between 2012 and 2015, he worked in the industrial entrepreneurial agency Puntios, which he founded. From 2004–2012 he was Chairman and founder at TwentyNinety, developers of a wireless monitoring system for photovoltaics. From 2004 to March 2021, he was the founder and non-executive director at Lontra, an engineering firm developing and commercializing energy-saving industrial compressors.   Hombersley began his professional life as a public affairs consultant providing advice on regulatory and political affairs mainly to water companies. 

NUMA is a Paris-based innovation hub with offices in New York, Berlin, Moscow, Barcelona, Mexico City, Casablanca in Morocco and Bengalaru, India. Supported by its 130 staff members, the company runs training and startup acceleration programs globally. To date, 300 startups have participated in NUMA's acceleration program, which was developed in partnership with the City of Paris. To date, NUMA has seen 17 exits from its investments. 

Taihecap is an investment bank established in 2012. As a financial advisor, it has served over 200 startups, including 40 unicorns, to raise more than $25bn in the primary market. Taihecap's long-term clients include the social commerce platform Pinduoduo, China’s largest used-car transaction platform Guazi.com, and the online K12 education platform Zuoyebang. Since 2019, Taihecap has started its overseas expansion into markets such as Southeast Asia and India.

Sandeep Aggarwal is a serial entrepreneur with an MBA from Washington University at St. Louis, USA. He worked at Microsoft and Citibank before returning to India in 2011 to establish ShopClues, India’s first online managed marketplace and the country’s fifth unicorn in the consumer internet sector . In 2014, he also founded an automotive e-commerce site Droom, where he currently serves as CEO. He recently became an angel investor and plans to invest US$3 million in 2017.

couldnt find a colour picDavid Bórsos is the Hungarian-born co-founder of Tonic App for medical doctors and currently works as an officer at the European Investment Fund in Luxembourg. He co-founded Tonic App after studying for his MBA at IE Business School in Madrid, where he met the rest of the co-founding team. Bórsos previously worked as Head of Business Intelligence at Job Today and as a Business Analyst at various levels at Goodyear, both in Luxembourg. He also holds a BSc from Deberceni Egyetem in Hungary and worked for Samsung Electronics and TVA in the same country.

Harvard Law graduate Shinta Nurfauzia earned her bachelor's degree in law at Universitas Indonesia. After working as a banking and finance associate at Allen & Overy Indonesia, and as a law associate at Lubis, Santosa & Maramis, Nurfauzia received the prestigious Indonesia Endowment Fund For Education Scholarship to Harvard Law School. Post-Harvard, Nurfauzia worked as a consultant to the Indonesian government sustainability program (REDD+) before founding the healthcare platform Konsula. She started her first business at 14 years old, a pancake business, and then a luxury bag reseller business.After Konsula pivoted to health food company Lemonilo, Nurfauzia remained at the company. She is currently Lemonilo’s co-CEO, sharing the role with Ronald Wijaya.

With the aim of supporting Hong Kong to develop into a world-class tech innovation center and cooperating with Guangdong and Macau enterprises to support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, large-sized mainland enterprises operating in Hong Kong, Hong Kong companies, mainland private firms and new economy enterprises initiated Greater Bay Area Homeland Development Fund in 2018. With a total capital volume of over HK$100bn, it is managed by Greater Bay Area Homeland Investments. The fund will also provide help to enterprises in the Greater Bay Area to export products to overseas markets.

Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund was launched at the closing ceremony of the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence conference. It was co-led by state-owned enterprises such as Guosheng Group and Lingang Group, and backed by local governments, state-owned industrial groups, and financing firms. The fund was initially be valued at RMB 10bn, with plans to increase this figure to RMB 100bn. It operates through direct investment and sub-funds.It mainly invests in early-stage tech companies as well as leading players that apply AI technologies in various verticals. 

Credit Ease Financial Industry Investment Fund was founded in 2016 and now manages a combined total of RMB 3 billion and US$ 500 million. It has invested in more than 20 Fintech companies around the world.

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Lightspeed Venture Partners is an early-stage VC firm that focuses on the enterprise and consumer sectors. Over the past two decades, the firm has backed more than 300 companies globally. It currently has over US$4bn in committed capital. The firm invests mainly in the US, Israel, India and China. It also works in collaboration with Lightspeed China Partners, a China-focused venture capital firm, to make investments in China. 

Founded in 2012, Purple Orange’s objective is to support the transition away from animals in the food chain, supporting early-stage food and biotech companies across the globe with a focus on alternative proteins and cellular agriculture. It currently has 12 startups from different nations in its portfolio. Its most recently disclosed investments have been in the December 2020 pre-seed round of Chinese cultured meat startup CellX and in the November 2020 $500,000 pre-seed round of Swedish plant-based food vending startup VEAT.
