Gary Kun (Kun Peng) received a bachelor's degree in Finance from Hong Kong Baptist University School of Business in 2014 and a master's degree in Financial Management from Johns Hopkins University in 2015. He founded BOUNDLESSX in May 2016 to produce short VR films and three of them were screened at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. He founded AltStory in October 2017.

The Tsinghua University graduate with an MS from the University of Buffalo and PhD in engineering from Stanford University was invited by Wang Jing, senior vice president of Baidu, to start Baidu Research US. In 2015, he was promoted to Baidu's Chief Architect in charge of R&D of autonomous driving.
