Garry Cooper is the CEO and co-founder of pioneering circular economy B2B asset reuse platform Rheaply where he has worked full-time since 2016. Before that, he worked in research for over 10 years at Chicago’s Northwestern University Feinburg School of Medicine, leading Parkinson's disease treatment investigation there for four years and, before that, as a graduate student researcher. He also temporarily served as a member of the Life Science Practice R&D division at consultancy EY, during this time. Cooper holds a PhD in neuroscience from Northwestern University, a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington and a Certificate in Management for Scientists and Engineers from the Kellogg School of Management. Cooper also continues to be an adjunct assistant professor at Northwestern University and  a member of several local business associations, including the Economic Club of Chicago, Forbes Chicago Business Council and 1871.

Recognized by Forbes as one of the Top 30 Under 30 for science and healthcare, Luís Valente completed a master’s thesis in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Porto in Portugal. He also has won awards at the Global Management Challenge and the Global Marketing Competition.In 2009, he founded Gadgets4All, an online store supplying novelty gadgets in Portugal. While running his online business, he worked at Eurosider in the steel sector for over eight years in the technical support and procurement and supply chain departments. He exited the online business in 2016.In 2018, Valente joined INESC Technology and Science as a researcher in project management, procurement & supply chains. In May 2019, he left to work as a business manager for seven months at Portuguese startup Veniam. Valente left Veniam to focus full-time as CEO and co-founder of iLoF.

Ali Harlin completed two doctorates in chemical engineering and in polymer science in 1995 and 1996 respectively. He spent 11 years developing the Borstar technology related to bimodal PE and PP. He has also worked as a research director for packaging materials and cable machinery. He currently works as a research professor and lecturer at two local universities in Finland. In 2003, he joined Tampere University of Technology as a professor for fiber materials and technical textiles. In 2014, he also started lecturing at LUT University as a professor specializing in packaging and polymeric materials.Since 2005, the industrial biomaterial specialist has also been working at the Technical Research Centre of Finland VTT where he became the product R&D team leader for Infinited Fiber, a startup he co-founded in 2016 with CEO Petri Alava.

Partner of Zhenfund, Wang Qiang (b.1962) co-founded this TMT-focused seed fund with his longtime friend and partner Xu Xiaoping, in collaboration with Sequoia Capital China, in 2011. The angel investor also co-founded NYSE-listed New Oriental Education & Technology Group, where he was executive vice president in charge of teaching and training at Beijing New Oriental School, and Industry vice-president and group chairman. A leading specialist in English-language education in China, Wang has lectured at the English department of Peking University and served as senior consultant to the English channel of China National Radio. He majored in English language and literature at Peking University and holds a master's degree in computer science from the State University of New York. Wang is a lover and collector of antiquarian books.

Roger Federer, the Swiss 20-times Grand Slam tennis champion, has turned into an angel investor while planning his professional life beyond and after his tennis sports career.In 2019, he invested in On, the Swiss running shoe manufacturer for an undisclosed funding amount. Federer currently has no formal role in the company but he’s actively involved in its R&D and product development. “I feel like I can give input on any of the lines, the shoes, anything moving forward. I can give my opinion on anything and On can either take it or leave it. I feel like [with] a major brand like Nike, that's literally impossible. It just wouldn't work,” he has said.More recently, Federer participated in a Series D funding round backing the first Chilean unicorn NotCo, which sells plant-based food and beverage products across Latin America and the US. 

Norberto González Díaz serves as the CEO of railway consultancy firm SigmaRail, which he co-founded in 2016. His professional life started in the US, where he worked on wind turbine generators in EDF's R&D department. In 2008, he joined CRISA, an Airbus company, as a power electronics design engineer. Between 2011 and 2015, González held various roles at Spanish industrial engineering company Grupo Cobra, spending time in Spain, the Ivory Coast and Cameroon. He holds a master's in Electrical and Thermal Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and another in Advanced Materials from Cranfield University in the UK. 

Vladimir Lupenko is a professional accountant, serial entrepreneur and angel investor. Lupenko’s latest entrepreneurial project is Impress, an invisible aligners company using a hybrid model of remote patient monitoring and in-person visits. The startup, headquartered in Barcelona but operating in several European countries, is regarded as one of the fastest-growing telemedicine companies in Europe.Originally from Russia, Lupenko holds a master’s in Economics from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. In 2005 he studied Corporate Finance at the Vienna University of Business and Economics. His professional career started as a Consultant in KPMG Russia in 2005, which he left two years later. Since 2007 he is also the co-founder of FCG, a corporate finance and M&A advisory firm in Russia and since 2013 he is also the non-executive co-founder of CarPrice one of the largest second-hand car marketplaces in Russia and Japan. In 2015, he co-founded AKTIVO a technology-backed real estate platform in Russia.

Raúl Aragonés Ortiz is AEInnova’s chairman, former CEO, principal founder and originator of the idea behind the company. He is currently AEInnova's business development manager and holds a PhD in Microelectronics. He is also a professor at the IESE Business School and Salesians School Sarrià in Barcelona. Before founding AEInnova, Aragonés was an R&D investigator in chip systems, ASIC design, energy harvesting and smart cities at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He holds memberships in the Astronomical Association of Terrassa and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Since 2018, he has also been a business advisor to the startup Happy Customer Box.

US native Christopher Carstens graduated in mechanical engineering in 2002 at the University of California, Berkeley. He started his career as a technology analyst at The Spark Group in San Francisco.In 2004, the engineer co-founded Solid Gas Technologies to build a methane hydrate production system. Carstens also founded Homeland Fuels to construct a bioreactor using ethanol. He exited both companies in 2006 and went to work at World Waste Technologies in California as project manager and engineer. In 2012, he started working at Graphene Technologies as R&D engineer.In 2013, he joined an innovation accelerator program at Singularity University where he met Finnish participant Henrietta Moon. They co-founded Finnish startup Carbo Culture in 2016 with Carstens as CTO based at the California plant.The serial entrepreneur and inventor also founded Hydrate Dynamics as CTO in 2015 to develop gas storage and transportation facilities using clathrate hydrates technology. In 2018, he was appointed by the US Department of Energy to be a member of the Methane Hydrate Advisory Committee until January 2020.

Famous techpreneur Li Yinan (b. 1970) is the former CTO of Baidu and former CEO of Wuxian Xunqi, a China Mobile subsidiary. After Li graduated from Huazhong University of Science & Technology with a master’s degree in Optics Engineering, he joined Huawei and was promoted to vice-president of its Central Research Department in just six months; in 1997 Li because the youngest vice-president at Huawei. In 2001, Li quit Huawei and started his own data communication company, Harbour Networks, which followed the same structure of Huawei and soon became its main competitor. In 2005, Harbour Networks lost in its intense battle with Huawei and was acquired by the larger player. Even though Li rejoined Huawei after the acquisition, he was never able to re-enter the core management team because of his damaged relationship with Ren Zhengfei, the founder and president of Huawei. In April 2015, Li founded his smart e-scooter company, NIU Smart Scooters. Li began investing in 2010 and joined GSR Ventures in 2011. Up to June 2015, Li had invested in more than 10 companies from the TMT sector. Li stood trial for insider trading in March 2016, according to news reports.

Mohit Goel is one of India’s youngest real estate tycoons and an angel investor. He appeared as one of a panel of potential investors on the India reality TV show The Vault,  which features start-ups pitching their business ideas to angel investors in order to seek funding. Goel is CEO of Omaxe, a real estate firm based in New Delhi. As the second-generation head of the company, he was credited for structural changes aimed at turning the firm around amidst challenging market conditions and introducing fresh concepts and customer-centric ideas to strengthen the business. Goel is also the north zone head of CREDAI Youth Wing, an industry body bringing together the next generation of leaders in India’s real estate and property developer market. In 2014, he was named Young Male Entrepreneur of the Year at the Infra & Realty Sutra Awards and also received the Young Achiever’s Award at ABP News’ Real Estate Awards.

Finnish native Pia Henrietta Moon, has been a scout leader since 2003. Her first job was in event management and tourism operations in India for Sunset Getaways & Insta tourism in 2007. While studying at the University of Economics and Business in Vienna, she met American engineer Christopher Carstens in 2013 at a global solutions innovation program organized by Singularity University in California. She left university in 2014 and co-founded Carbo Culture as CEO in 2016 with Carstens as CTO.In 2016, Moon also joined the electronics company Yleiselektroniikka as a board member, the youngest person in Finland to hold such a position in a listed company. Moon also founded edtech startup Mehackit in 2013 and became its chairwoman for four years.  She exited both companies in 2018 to focus on running Carbo Culture.While at university, Moon also worked for over two years at Rails Girls, a not-for-profit for women in tech. In Finland, she joined the student entrepreneurship society in 2011 and completed an internship in 2010 at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. In 2015, she joined the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers youth community initiative in Helsinki.

Saasha Celestial-One is the American-born COO and co-founder of zero food waste app OLIO. Celestial-One, a name chosen by her hippy parents in rural Iowa, went on to work as an analyst at Morgan Stanley after graduating in economics at the University of Chicago in 1998. She started an MBA program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2002 where she met OLIO’s British co-founder Tessa Clarke.The American banker joined McKinsey & Co in 2003 as an associate in New York and managed to get a transfer to work at McKinsey in London in 2005 when her boyfriend went to study at Cambridge University in England. In 2007, she became VP of business development for American Express. She left Amex in June 2013 and co-founded My Crèche in London as CEO of the pay-as-you-go childcare service. Both OLIO co-founders were mums with young children in North London when they decided to pool together their savings to develop the OLIO app in 2015.

Nour Akbaraly completed a master’s in engineering at Centrale Lille and also a master’s in applied mathematics at Lille University in 2010. In 2011, Akbaraly joined industrial manufacturing consultancy firm Avencore as a consultant in Paris.The avid photographer and F&B enthusiast also went to various tea-tasting classes at a tea specialist college until 2015. Passionate about gastronomy, he began exploring alt-protein alternatives to address the environmental and ethical challenges of food supply chains.In 2016, he went on an engineering training course for agronomy and agri-food at AgroSup Dijon, the National Institute of Agronomic, Food and Environmental Sciences.A year later, he founded Les Noveaux Affineurs, a startup specializing in plant-based alternatives to cheese. His ambition is to create a new range of French gastronomic vegan cheese products for consumers in France and overseas.Since 2010, Akbaraly is also a volunteer at the Action Contre la Faim, a Paris-based international NGO founded in 1979. The “Action Against Hunger” projects include running awareness campaigns on food security issues in colleges and schools in France and other countries like India and Sudan.

Alison Gelb Pincus is an entrepreneur who co-founded One King’s Lane, a direct-to-consumer home decor company which was sold to Bed, Bath & Beyond, and more recently, sustainable packaging start-up kari.earth. She is also an angel investor and founder of Short List Capital, a San Francisco-based early-stage VC collective run by women.  Short List Capital currently lists 20 companies in its portfolio, which has a focus on investing in e-commerce platforms with healthy, user-friendly or sustainable products. Gelb Pincus’s recent investments included participation in the May 2020 $5.3m seed round of US cookware maker Caraway and a 2015 investment in US-based unicorn Diamond Foundry, the first certified carbon-neutral lab-produced diamond manufacturer.Alison Gelb Pincus was married to Mark Pincus, the co-founder of Zynga and a founding investor in Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, and Xiaomi.
