Leonard Cremer is an engineering graduate from the University of Johannesburg. He worked as an analyst programmer before moving into the finance industry. Then in 2001, he co-founded Integrat in South Africa, a mobile media enabler for Mobile Network Operator. He is now the Group COO at Integrat Pty Ltd. Cremer was also the COO of InTarget from 2001 until 2016. Through business trips, he met up with co-founder Dennis Vilovic who broached the idea of starting a group travel planning platform. In 2017, they co-founded TroopTravel to make global travel planning more efficient for corporates.

Marta Fernández de la Vega is a veteran in marketing and digital communications. She worked at Havas Digital and Genetsis for a total of almost five years before starting an academic career as a lecturer.In 2015, she became the managing partner of Made in Mobile co-founded by Sixto Arias. She joined Arias to set up edtech Capaball as CFO in 2018. She was appointed CEO of Made in Mobile in 2019 but left the digital innovation agency in March 2020.She is now an advisor at AtticoLab and lectures at CEU Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia.

Former Tencent engineer in mobile payments Yang Dengfeng is a pet lover who has struggled with the same problems faced by many pet owners – especially every time he has to bathe his 50kg golden retriever.

A master’s degree holder in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Superior Téchnico, Nuno Rochinha began delving into the world of web development during his college days when he learnt to code in HTML, CSS and JS. From there, Rochinha worked as a web developer in companies such as Sonaecom and Excentric. He co-founded GetSocial in 2012 and was the startup’s CTO from 2012 to 2015. Today, Rochinha is a senior developer at Runtime Revolution.

Li holds a master’s in Information Management from the University of Maryland. She used to work as a senior manager for MicroStrategy, a US business intelligence, mobile software and cloud services provider.

Rice Bank was founded by two former Alibaba executives in 2014. The VC mainly invests in early-stage startups across the sectors of mobile internet, digital entertainment, media, intelligent hardware and cloud computing.

LeapFrog Investments is an impact-focused investor, managing over $1.6bn in assets mainly investing in Africa and Asia. Its “profit with purpose” has led to investments in startups that provide healthcare, financial services and insurance for low-income consumers. Since it was founded in 2007, LeapFrog has attracted funds from Prudential, AXA, Swiss Re and Omidyar Network, becoming the first impact investor in the world to reach the $1bn milestone. It’s headquartered in South Africa and Singapore.LeapFrog is best known for its investments in the insurance sector. One of the most prominent companies in its portfolio is BIMA, the mobile-based insurance provider that has provided coverage in Ghana, Bangladesh, Cambodia and many other countries. In 2020, LeapFrog invested in Indonesian startup PasarPolis, which is a broker for a wide range of microinsurance products. In the healthcare and biotechnology sectors, LeapFrog has funded Indian genetic diagnostics company MedGenome, as well as Goodlife Pharmacy, a Kenyan company providing access to affordable medicine in the East African country.

Software engineer and entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca holds a master’s degree in Telecommunications and Software Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon. Previous to Talkdesk, Fonseca was a researcher at INESC-ID and founded two businesses, VEEP and Bouncely. Since 2014, she has also been involved in the World Economic Forum. Fonseca developed Talkdesk with fellow co-founder Tiago Paiva at a Twilio-hosted hackathon. She left Talkdesk in 2016 to pursue her personal interests.

Founded in 2011 by Wang Xiao, a member of the Baidu founding team, Unity Ventures is a venture capital firm in China that focuses on early-stage companies in the internet and mobile internet sectors.

Joan Jordi Vallverdú is the CEO of the Omnicom Media Group where he has worked for the past 20 years. Omnicom Media Group belongs to the Omnicom Group, one of the largest marketing, advertising and communication companies in the world, serving more than 5,000 clients in over 100 countries.

Founded in 2011, Tokyo-based venture capital firm GREE Ventures focuses on investing in early stage (pre-Series A and Series A) internet and mobile companies. The firm invests in Japan, Southeast Asia, and other geographies within Asia.

An experienced entrepreneur in internet business, Wen Chu founded the online community for media professionals No4media.com in 2001, the Guangzhou-based Click.com.cn in 2003, and the mobile entertainment website Moabc.com in 2005. Click.com.cn was acquired by the NASDAQ-listed company PACT in 2004. In March 2008, he founded the Great Wall Club (GWC), a communication platform for entrepreneurs and startups that has initiated and organized events such as the annual Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) since 2008 and the startup competition G-Startup Worldwide. He currently is the president and CEO of GWC. He invested Xpeng Motors as an angel investor in 2014.

Established in 2012, Cyzone Angel Fund is an angel venture investment fund subsidiary of Cyzone, which runs the Chuangyebang magazine. They focus on early stage investment in internet, mobile internet, digital media, hardware and life style sectors.

David Soong graduated in Marketing at Seattle University, USA. He is a serial entrepreneur and owner of SweetEscape,  a holiday photography company that provides photography services in over 300 cities around the world.  David also runs two other businesses which he co-founded in 2002: AXIOO, a photography and videography company specializing in weddings, engagements and family portraits; and the Boga restaurant group that manages Pepper Lunch, Bakerzin, Paradise Dynasty and Shaburi.
