Tony Fadell is the inventor of the iPod, co-inventor of the iPhone, and former CEO and founder of Nest Labs, which was later acquired by Google. He is also an angel investor and head of Paris-based deeptech advisory and investing firm Future Shape, which has over 200 companies in its portfolio and a focus on issues like the electrification and digital connection of things, biomanufacturing and the eradication of waste. Fadell has invested in at least 10 startups, with his most recent disclosed investments having taken place in 4Q20. These included his participation in the $7m seed round of London-based consumer technology and conceptual design house Nothing, the $45m Series B round of US biotech firm and vegan leather maker MycoWorks, well as the $31m Series A round of video call effects and presentation tools company mmhmm. 

Established in San Francisco in 1998, global VC firm e.ventures now has offices and teams in the US, Brazil, Germany, China and Japan. The company invests from seed stage to later stages in sums ranging from US$500,000 to US$30m. It has invested in over 275 companies to date, as lead investor in 70, and has managed 42 exits, including Groupon and Farfetch. Recent investments include cloud-based contract management company Icertis's US$115m Series E round and workforce app Staffbase's Series C round. The VC has six investment funds, totaling US$1.1bn, including a US$125m European-dedicated fund established in June 2019.

Based in Porto, Nuno Miller joined Sonae as head of digital channels in 2015 and eventually became the chief digital and information officer at Sonae S&F in March 2018. He was CIO at Farfetch for three years until 2014 when he was named as European CIO of the year by CIONET and INSEAD.Graduating as an IT engineer in 1994, Miller initially worked as a systems engineer at DTTI for four years before joining Deloitte's as a business unit manager. He completed an executive MBA at EUDEM in 2002 and became the CIO and director of Organtex.

Francesc Mora Sagués was the president of MoraBanc based in Andorra for 15 years. He was also the CEO of Morsa Group and adviser at property group Inmobiliaria Colonial. Since 2017, he has been a business angel, partner and founder of Kensington Capital SL, an investment firm headquartered in Andorra and focuses on emerging deep technology startups.   In June 2016, Andorra had the second largest number of electric vehicles in the Iberian peninsula. Andorra’s 6% market share of electric and hybrid vehicles was mainly due to the Principality’s strong public policy for renewable energy and eco-friendly transportation.

Co-founded by Robin Li and six others in 2000, Baidu, Inc., is a search engine provider with 80% of the Chinese market. Its business consists of three parts: search services, transaction services and iQiyi video services. Search services are targeted at internet users; pay-for-placement services, for example, are triggered by search queries. Transaction services include Baidu Nuomi, Baidu Maps, Baidu Connect, Baidu Wallet, etc. iQiyi is an online video platform with a content library that includes licensed and self-produced films and shows. In 2017, Baidu invested mainly in the fields of AI, transportation and enterprise services.

An experienced entrepreneur in internet business, Wen Chu founded the online community for media professionals No4media.com in 2001, the Guangzhou-based Click.com.cn in 2003, and the mobile entertainment website Moabc.com in 2005. Click.com.cn was acquired by the NASDAQ-listed company PACT in 2004. In March 2008, he founded the Great Wall Club (GWC), a communication platform for entrepreneurs and startups that has initiated and organized events such as the annual Global Mobile Internet Conference (GMIC) since 2008 and the startup competition G-Startup Worldwide. He currently is the president and CEO of GWC. He invested Xpeng Motors as an angel investor in 2014.

Brad Bao (Bao Zhoujia) graduated in International Marketing at Wuhan University in 1997 and obtained an MBA from UC Berkeley in 2005. He worked in marketing at FORMICA from January 1997 to March 1998 and went on to work at Kodak until April 2000. He was at IBM until April 2001 when he finally decided to become an entrepreneur and co-founded NORICT in Beijing.He was also the GM and VP of the US branch for Tencent from 2005–2012. He joined Kinzon Capital as managing partner in September 2013 and co-founded LimeBike in the US in November 2016.

Ramiro Salamanca is a well-known Spanish lawyer. He holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an Executive Master's in Public Management from IE Business School.For more than eight years, Salamanca worked as a lawyer for the Community of Madrid, where he served the Ministry of Environment, Housing and Land Management; the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Government Spokesman. He was director of legal advice to Madrid Metro from 2012 to 2015.Since 2016, he has acted as CLO of Reclamador.es, a web platform that manages and automates consumer claims.

Marieta del Rivero is a successful female entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in leading companies in the world of information and communications technology, mobility and digital services. She graduated from the IESE Business School and has an executive degree in Digital Business Strategy from Columbia University.Currently, the president of the International Women´s Forum Spain, she is also the president of Seeliger and Conde media group. Del Rivero is also an independent non-executive director at Cellnex Telecom, the main European infrastructure operator for wireless communication and Gestamp, an international group that manufactures metal automotive components.

Based in Seattle, Washington, Pivotal Ventures was founded by Melinda Gates in 2015 as a separate, independent organization from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The VC-arm and incubator aim to foster social innovation in the US, focusing on the social progress of women and families. It has supported diversity & inclusion, healthcare and impact startups by providing early-stage funding to enterprises with philanthropic and scalable goals. In October 2020, Pivotal launched a fund for adolescent mental health in partnership with Panorama Global. In September 2020, it also joined Techstars to create a new accelerator program to find innovative eldercare solutions for seniors and their caregivers.

Taavet Hinrikus is the Estonian-born co-founder and CEO of money transfer platform and unicorn TransferWise (now called Wise).  He was formerly Skype’s Director of Strategy and is a prolific angel investor across sectors and technologies, with investments in around 30 startups to date. His most recent investments include in the April 2021 $11m Series A round of automatic contract negotiator PACTUM and in the March 2021 $48m Series A round of Dutch cell-based meat startup Meatable which leverages pluripotent stem cells for the first time in foodtech.

Shell Foundation is the not-for-profit investment arm of the global energy giant Shell.  Based in London, the foundation was set up in 2000 to invest in social and environmental impact companies, including startups with the potential to reach out to over 10m low-income consumers and achieve financial viability within 10 years. The foundation mainly invests at the pre-seed and seed funding stage and currently has 77 startups in its portfolio. In January 2021, it joined the $790,000 seed round of African agritech social enterprise AgroCenta and also gave a $350,000 grant to sustainable mobility platform Easy Matatu in Uganda.

Orkla ASA is an Oslo-based supplier of branded consumer products to major markets in the Nordic and Baltic regions and Central Europe. Selected product categories are also available in India, known as MTR Foods brand. Popular brands include Felix, Toro, Panda and Abba.Originally founded in 1654, Orkla is one of Norway’s oldest business conglomerates and became public-listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (ORKLY) in 1929. Orkla Foods accounts for 39% of the group’s operating revenues. Two other subsidiaries, Orkla Care and Orkla Food Ingredients generate about 43% of the group’s operating revenues. The Orkla Confectionery & Snacks division contributes about 15%.

DX Ventures is the Berlin-based investment vehicle of on-demand app unicorn Delivery Hero. The VC currently has 12 startups in its portfolio including EU rival Glovo. It also invests in social commerce and on-demand delivery startups in Latin America like Facily and Rappi.Investments in September 2021 include participation in the $43m Series B round of British food-sharing app OLIO and $5m Series A funding round for Toku, a Singapore-based startup and Asia Pacific’s dedicated cloud communications provider. It also invested in Leipzig-based sustainable foodtech, the nu company, that produces vegan chocolates and organic proteins.

K2VC was founded in 2010 and focuses on early-stage investment in technology start-ups in China, with the objective of promoting change and technological progress, as well as innovative business models and lifestyles.
