Unbabel's Co-founder and CEO Vasco Pedro is a language technology expert and serial entrepreneur and holds a bachelor’s degree in Language and Knowledge Engineering from the University of Lisbon, and a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Language Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University. A senior engineer with nearly two decades of experience, Pedro Moreira was a consultant for 11 years before he became a project manager at Aguas do Porto. Moon also founded edtech startup Mehackit in 2013 and became its chairwoman for four years. She exited both companies in 2018 to focus on running Carbo Culture.While at university, Moon also worked for over two years at Rails Girls, a not-for-profit for women in tech. In Finland, she joined the student entrepreneurship society in 2011 and completed an internship in 2010 at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Since 2019, he has been part of the co-founding team of Allread MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning.
