Muhammad Risyad Ganis joined agriculture crowd investment platform Crowde as a co-founder and is currently the company’s CFO. He was previously with the Jakarta office of Willis Towers Watson, a global financial advisory company. Risyad graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2014 with a bachelor’s in Economics, Politics and International Studies.Ganis left Crowde in 2018. He is currently the COO and co-founder of data consultancy firm Celerates.

Sixto Arias is a veteran entrepreneur based in Madrid. He graduated with a BA Communications degree from Complutense University in 1992.In 2001, he started his first venture as co-founder of Movilisto that was sold to London-based mobile value-added services group Itouch Plc in 2004. In 2007, he founded media planner Mobext that was sold to Havas Media six years later.He is an angel investor focusing on projects relating to AI, education, IoT and mobile. He was the managing partner of Conector Startup Accelerator in Madrid for over two years. He is also the founder of the Mobile Marketing Association in Spain.Arias currently runs two startups: digital innovation agency Made in Mobile that he founded in 2014 and edtech Capaball co-founded in 2018. As a digital marketing specialist and experienced lecturer, he also works as a professor at ESCP Europe in Madrid and University of Sergio Arboleda in Colombia.

US native Christopher Carstens graduated in mechanical engineering in 2002 at the University of California, Berkeley. He started his career as a technology analyst at The Spark Group in San Francisco.In 2004, the engineer co-founded Solid Gas Technologies to build a methane hydrate production system. Carstens also founded Homeland Fuels to construct a bioreactor using ethanol. He exited both companies in 2006 and went to work at World Waste Technologies in California as project manager and engineer. In 2012, he started working at Graphene Technologies as R&D engineer.In 2013, he joined an innovation accelerator program at Singularity University where he met Finnish participant Henrietta Moon. They co-founded Finnish startup Carbo Culture in 2016 with Carstens as CTO based at the California plant.The serial entrepreneur and inventor also founded Hydrate Dynamics as CTO in 2015 to develop gas storage and transportation facilities using clathrate hydrates technology. In 2018, he was appointed by the US Department of Energy to be a member of the Methane Hydrate Advisory Committee until January 2020.

Sky Kurtz graduated in finance at Arizona State University in 2004. He also completed a master’s in business administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 2011.He started his corporate career in New York at Lehman Brothers where he worked as an analyst from 2004–2006. He went on to work at CCMP Capital as an associate for three years until 2009. After various board member roles in US, he became the VP of Francisco Partners in 2011, a global private equity firm based in San Francisco.In 2014, he became the CEO of Mateen Corporation that manufactures high-performance fiber-reinforced polymers in the UAE and New Zealand. In 2016, he co-founded Vence Corp, a virtual fencing device manufacturer for livestock management. Currently based in UAE, Kurtz also founded Pure Harvest Smart Farms in Abu Dhabi. He is the CEO of the Middle East’s first commercial-scale, semi-automated, hybrid greenhouse growing system. Kurtz is also an advisor at e-commerce beauty startup Powder.ae and an entrepreneur-in-residence at Shorooq Investments.

Industrial business entrepreneur Jasper Holdsworth comes from a multi-generational family of cattle ranchers. In 2013, he became a director of his family’s 100-year-old Paringahau Farm Company in New Zealand. He also co-founded a virtual fencing startup for livestock management, Vence Corp, with US-based investment banker Frank Wooten in 2016.After graduating in forestry engineering in 1995, Holdsworth obtained a master’s in engineering management at his alma mater University of Canterbury. In 1998, he completed a master’s in applied finance at Macquarie University and started his banking career at WestLB and Deutsche Bank in Sydney.He completed an entrepreneurship development program run by MIT’s Sloan School of Management in 2010. He has also undertaken an advanced management program run by Harvard Business School in 2012.Since 2004, he has been working as the CEO of New Zealand-based Pultron Composites Ltd, an industrial technology company focused on the development and manufacture of glass fiber-reinforced polymers.In 2019, he became the chairman and co-founder of Mateenbar Ltd to produce composite reinforcement for infrastructure building materials in New Zealand, North Carolina and Saudi Arabia.

Former MARS Indonesia and GTZ researcher Diajeng Lestari holds a Social & Political Science degree from the University of Indonesia. Her husband is Achmad Zaky, the founder of Indonesian startup BukaLapak. Diajeng was born in 1986.

A blogger since 1999, Hanifa started a female-focused blog, then called Fashionese Daily, in 2005 while pursuing her MBA at Maryville University of St. Louis and working as an assistant manager at Gap. Post-MBA, she returned to Indonesia to focus on her blogging project that became the Female Daily Network.

David Soong graduated in Marketing at Seattle University, USA. He is a serial entrepreneur and owner of SweetEscape,  a holiday photography company that provides photography services in over 300 cities around the world.  David also runs two other businesses which he co-founded in 2002: AXIOO, a photography and videography company specializing in weddings, engagements and family portraits; and the Boga restaurant group that manages Pepper Lunch, Bakerzin, Paradise Dynasty and Shaburi. 

Based in Lisbon, Filipa Neto graduated in Economics at the Catholic University of Portugal in 2012. She co-founded her first business with college friend Lara Vidreiro at the age of 21. They went on to establish Chic by Choice in 2014 and were listed in Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2018: Retail and E-commerce. In December 2017, Neto also started working for Farfetch as a principal innovation specialist and mentor for its accelerator program Dream Assembly.

Before becoming co-founder, CPO and growth hacker at Fabelio in February 2016, Filippo Lombardi was a commercial director at Linio Panama electronic marketplace until December 2015. He had also worked at the Lazada Group in Indonesia since September 2012 as the head of web analytics and as onsite UX optimization marketing VP for Southeast Asia until 2014. Filippo obtained a bachelor’s in Business Administration and Management and a master’s in Economic and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Italy.

Rama Raditya graduated with a master’s in Management Information Systems in 2005 from Strayer University, USA. He returned to Indonesia and joined PwC as an IT auditor for a year. He then worked at Bank Danamon as an IT auditor and advisor before moving on to Ernst & Young. In 2013, he founded TerralogiQ, which later launched Qlue as part of Jakarta’s Smart City initiative. Rama became the CEO of PT Qlue Performa Indonesia when Qlue was incorporated as a standalone company.

Motivated by the red overalls-clad plumber Mario as a kid, Paulo Fonseca knew he wanted to develop video games. Faced with having to choose between electronics and football, Fonseca opted for the former and pursued his studies in Computer and Telematics Engineering at the University of Aveiro. Getting access to a computer in his elementary school piqued Márcio Colunas’s interest in informatics. This led to a degree in Computer and Telematics Engineering at the University of Aveiro, where he carried out research and development in biomedical systems. His work was integral to his career, having co-founded SWORD Health, a technology company disrupting medical-physical rehabilitation. Born in 1987, Colunas is also a co-founder of Findster Technologies, the company behind the Findster Duo GPS pet tracker.

Central Washington University graduate Afi Integritya has worked in the USA and in the UK in various roles, ranging from marketing executive to student ambassador. She returned to Indonesia in 2015 and joined Tokopedia to work in business development. She left a few months later to co-found Konsaato, a crowdfunding site for music concerts that was rebranded as Konserku. However, after working one year as the startup’s CMO, she left to work independently as a freelance content writer and social media manager.

Melia Winata graduated from Australia’s University of Melbourne with a degree in Biomedicine. While studying there between 2010 and 2012, she worked as a Mathematics teacher at Kumon. She eventually returned to Indonesia and became an executive director at the Indonesian branch of international real estate agency RE/MAX Prestige.In 2014, she joined two high school friends to establish Du’Anyam, becoming the CMO at the social enterprise that seeks to empower women through wicker crafting.
