Marcel Alcoverro is the CTO and co-founder of Gestoos, a gesture recognition startup. Alcoverro graduated from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) with a master’s in Advanced Computing, Computer Graphics and Virtual Reality as well as PhD in Telecommunication Engineering. He is the author of several papers in international peer-reviewed journals on computer vision, computer graphics and 3D data processing.

Google co-founder Larry Page is controlling shareholder of Alphabet Inc, Google’s parent company. As of June 2021, Page’s net worth was $106.2bn, making him the sixth richest person in the world. To date, he has made disclosed investments in five tech companies. The two most recent were both in 2016: an undisclosed quantum of investment in US-based electric personal aircraft startup Kitty Hawk Corporation, as well as participation in space mining company Planetary Resources’ $21m Series A round. 

Silicon Valley Future Capital is a venture capital firm that invests primarily in early stage and growth stage companies with disruptive technologies or innovative business models. Founding partner Dr. Hong Miao used to be managing partner of CLI Ventures, senior VP of CheerLand Investment Group, executive president of the CL Institute of Innovation, and chairman of Zen Water Capital in Silicon Valley. The firm invests primarily in innovations in high-tech, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, cloud computing, robotics, life science, biotech, precision medicine and other disruptive technologies.

Co-author of China’s first Android development textbook, Jin Yan is also co-founder and CEO of Eoe, China’s largest Android development forum/online community. The Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications graduate penned Android Development Introduction & Practice, although when at college, the only subject he failed was computing, which he blamed on the outdated teaching materials and teaching methods. Jin was an IT autodidact, learning mainly from the Internet.

Harvard graduate Johannes Ardiant earned his bachelor’s degree in Computing from the National University of Singapore. He also pursued a Master’s in Public Policy at Harvard. In 2015 he became the co-founder and COO of healthcare services platform Konsula, which pivoted into health food startup Lemonilo in 2017. Currently, he heads Lemonilo’s product, engineering, data, design and operations.

Microsoft is a US-based technology company that focuses on software products and services. Its Windows operating system is one of the most widely used in the world, and it is also a leader in the video games industry thanks to its Xbox video game platform. In the corporate world, it is best known for its Azure cloud computing services. It is one of the most valuable companies in the world alongside rival Apple, social media network Facebook, and internet giant Google. Microsoft is an active investor in the technology industry. It invests through its main business entity, as well as through subsidiaries such as M12, formerly known as Microsoft Ventures.

Victor Darmadi is a veteran software engineer who built his career at various German companies and multinational corporations. He worked as an intern for a Daimler-Chrysler subsidiary and Siemens, joining ITC Automotive as a software engineer on graduation. He spent over 10 years at Gracenote, an entertainment data service company acquired by Nielsen in 2017, before returning to Indonesia to join microlending startup JULO. Victor holds a master's degree in Business Computing from the University of Applied Sciences (FHW) Berlin, Germany.

Diego Nodar López is co-founder and head of R&D at Alén Space, where he is responsible for the development of the company's proprietary hardware and software. Nodar began his career at Vigo University's Aerospace Group, before working at Alén Space and the Aerospace Innovation Center in Galicia. Nodar studied telecommunications engineering, computing and electronics at Spain's Vigo University and holds a degree in Radiocommunication and Electromagnetic Engineering. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Space Technology. 

Manuel Moreno is a telecommunication engineer with a passion for software development. Moreno is also a serial entrepreneur. In 2006 he co-founded Noaris with his business partner, Julio Pernía Aznar. Noaris specialized in SaaS and cloud computing for the insurance sector and Reparanet, a Noaris spin-off, which became the biggest SaaS platform for repair companies in Spain. More recently, he co-founded, also with Pernía Aznar, Bdeo, an intelligence platform for underwriting and claims process, which he led in the role of CTO.

Xu Wenyao received a bachelor's degree in 2006 and a master's degree in 2008 from Zhejiang University. In 2013, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Xu is founder and director of the Embedded Sensing and Computing Group at the State University of New York at Buffalo and serves as an associate professor in the university's Department of Computer Science and Engineering. In February 2015, he co-founded Sennotech in Shenzhen and has served as Chief Scientist ever since. Xu leads Sennotech’s US lab.

Dr. Li is an associate professor at the Software Engineering Institute at the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, Peking University. He is also a member of the Key Lab of High Confidence Software Technologies at the university. Li has been teaching Introduction to Computing at Peking University since 2006. In 2013, he was a visiting scholar at the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Li's research focuses on software engineering, machine learning and knowledge engineering. He founded aiXcoder in March 2017.

Julio Pernía Aznar is a Spanish telecommunication engineer. He started his career as a programmer in CERN and later consulted for big companies like Altran, Telefonica and AENA in a European Commission project. In 2006, he founded his first company, Noaris, specialized in SaaS and cloud computing for insurance companies. He was managing director of Noaris until 2017 when he co-founded Bdeo, a video intelligence platform for underwriting and claims process. Bdeo won the "Most Innovative Product" award in the Insurtech and Fintech categories at the South Summit in Madrid in 2018.

Silicon Valley highflier Arip Tirta left a top job in 2011 to develop a big data and analytics property platform in Indonesia. He was based in Palo Alto, California for more than seven years and was a director of Investment Analysis and Strategy at a leading venture debt provider Hercules Technology Growth Capital.Armed with a bachelor’s in Mathematics of Computation from UCLA in 2002 and a master’s in Scientific Computing and Computational Mathematics from Stanford University in 2004, Arip found it frustrating to find a property in Indonesia, so he started UrbanIndo.

Laku6 co-founder Shing Kae Heng graduated in Computing Communications and Media at the National University of Singapore. While studying, he also worked as a freelancer in web and graphic design, photography and videography. He has worked for over 10 years at Hobby King as a web developer until January 2016. After graduating in 2010, he joined TheMobileGamer, a gaming portal run by Alvin Yap for six years before Laku6 was founded. The computer programmer was promoted to CTO in 2012 and joined Alvin to establish Laku6 as the new company's CTO in 2015.

Liu Long graduated from Northwestern Polytechnic University based in Xi'an in 2010. The Information and Computing Science graduate went on to the Institute of Remote Sensing Applications (IRSA) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences to pursue a PhD in Microwave Remote Sensing in 2015. He stayed on at the IRSA as a research fellow with funding support from the Youth Science Fund program under the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2016, he co-founded agtech startup McFly with two Wuhan University alumni who are also experts in remote sensing technology.
