Korea Investment Partners is a venture capital fund established in 1986. It primarily invests in companies from Korea, China and the United States. It has invested a total of more than US$1.7 billion in over 500 companies across various sectors, from social media to medtech.

One of the earliest and independent VC firms in China, Chengwei Capital was founded in Shanghai in 1999. It’s also the first and only evergreen fund in China.With Yale University Endowment as its largest investor, the VC limited partners also include institutional investors from around the world. GenBridge Capital is a private equity fund started by former executives from e-retailer JD.com and TPG Capital in 2016. It raised $500m from JD.com, international corporations, sovereign wealth funds and family funds. GenBridge Capital mainly invests in the consumer goods sector, including new-generation brands and offline stores. 

Founded in 2010 and based in Lisbon, eggNEST is a seed capital fund targeting Portuguese startups in the fields of digital marketing and software engineering. eggNEST is partnered with VC firms such as Caixa Capital and Portugal Ventures, as well as accelerators such as Startup Lisboa and Startup Braga, to build the country’s startup ecosystem.

Private equity fund and incubator Balancop Ventures Ltd was founded in 2009 by Herman Wang who is based in Shanghai, China. Balancop will also establish and invest in its own stable of startups, including a telematics service company in China, GM’s Onstar and Toyota’s G-book. Balancop also has offices in Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Ardent Capital is a Thai venture capital fund focusing on e-commerce and fulfilment services. It ran a subsidiary company named Ardent Ventures. In 2016, Ardent Capital merged with Wavemaker Partners. Ardent Capital maintains its portfolio, including Moxy (now Orami) and Snapcart. Ardent Ventures companies include SaleStock that is now managed by Wavemaker.

Frontline Ventures is a London-based VC firm that typically invests in early-stage B2B companies with the bulk of funding going toward European companies seeking a U.S. expansion. The current Fund II, worth €60 million, closed in 2016 and they are looking to make investments of between €200,000 and €3 million each.

The investment fund was established in 1998 by Luis Martín Cabiedes, one of the most prominent business angels in Spain. The VC provides funds for early-stage growth of internet and technology ventures in Spain, acting initially as a business angel and then becoming a venture capitalist for future funding rounds.

STI Financial Group is a Hong Kong-based investment firm. It specializes in hedge fund and private equity investments, managing the assets of clients through various investment instruments and structured products. The company also runs services to help clients set up trust funds for their heirs or family members.

Huihe Capital was initiated by JD Logistics, the logistics arm of China’s e-retailer JD.com in 2019. The VC limited partners include JD Logistics, JD.com, listed companies and government-led funds. JD Logistics has already raised RMB 1.5bn for the VC fund to invest in logistics-related startups and technologies.

Huaxin Capital is a private equity fund management platform that was set up by Luxin Venture Capital Group in 2011. Huaxin Capital invests in the fields of biomedicine, medical equipment, internet, IoT, clean energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, among others. 

Founded in 2009, Whales Capital is a venture capital firm under Dazheng Group, one of China’s leading coffee making equipment supplier. Right now, Whales Capital manages three funds, including a cultural industries fund that it co-founded with Ximalaya.

Established in January 2015, Riverhead Capital Investment Management Co., Ltd. is among the first batch of insurance private equity fund pilot units approved by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission. With assets under management of RMB 17 billion, it mainly invests in medical, pharmaceutical, Internet, innovative financial services and other fields.

Shenzhen Guozhong Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. (GZVCM) was founded in December 2015. Chief Partner and CEO Shi Anping previously served as vice president at Shenzhen Venture Capital Group. GZVCM is currently entrusted to operate the state-backed Small Medium Enterprises Development Fund, which has RMB 60bn under management.

HGI Finaves China is initiated by HGI Capital, a Hong Kong-based investment fund, and CEIBS, a business school established under an agreement between China’s trade ministry and the European Commission. It makes seed/angel round as well as Series A investments in the TMT, culture and creative, and consumer-related sectors in China.
