Established in 2016, Alphax Partners invests in rapidly growing internet companies. Founding partners include Thor Hongchuan, founder of Highland Capital China, Yao Yaping, an investment banker with 11 years of experience, and Yu Guangdong, former senior vice president of Chinese internet security company Qihoo 360. In May 2018, Alphax Partners raised RMB 2bn in total capital commitments for its debut fund. 

With about $2 billion under management, this VC fund invests primarily in early- and growth-stage global companies with substantial businesses in China, namely in the semiconductor, Internet, wireless, new media and cleantech sectors. GSR Ventures has backed Didi, Ele.me, among others, and was involved in the $2.8 billion purchase of an 80% stake in Philips's LED components and automotive business. It has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Silicon Valley.

Stella Maris Partners is a venture capital fund based in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico with a focus on the education, healthcare and financial services sectors. It invests in Mexican and foreign startups looking to expand to Mexico and Latin America. The firm was founded by Armando Badillo in 2012 and has four other managing partners, Angel Alvarez Cadaveico, Guillermo Zambrano Martinez, Jesus O. Lanza Losa and Marcelo Antonio Benitez Akbo.

Shenzhen-based Tiantu Capital manages over RMB 6 billion, spread across six RMB-denominated funds and one USD-denominated fund. The 30-plus-strong team also has offices in Shanghai and Beijing. It focuses on growth-stage consumer goods companies, particularly in the Series C round of financing. In 2015, it financed 22 startups, with total funding amounting to RMB 2.5 billion. Tiantu Capital was founded in 2002.

Established in Shenzhen in 2007, Share Capital has invested in over 100 companies. Some of its portfolio companies – e.g., NavInfo, Perfect World and BGI – have gone public. Its investment team of nearly 50 members manages more than RMB 6 billion worth of assets. Share Capital has set up a healthcare fund of RMB 1.5 billion and invested in over 70 health-related projects.

Sony is a Japanese multinational conglomerate established in 1946. It has a high number of acquisitions, investing in more than 20 tech startups and companies manufacturing technology products. It also has a seed investment fund, Seed Acceleration Program, launched in April 2014 to promote ideas that are beyond existing business categories and develop them for commercialization.

The TMT-focused VC manages about RMB 10 billion, in three USD-denominated funds and the Tianjin Chengbai RMB-denominated fund. Founded in 2006 by Tian Suning (Edward), the former CEO of China Netcom Group and co-founder and CEO of AsiaInfo (China's first Internet technology provider) is widely regarded as a founder of China's Internet industry. CBC's key investments include Uber, LinkedIn, Evernote, AirBnB, Dianping and Qihoo 360.

Shanghai Zhangjiang Science & Technology Investment Corporation (ZJ STIC) was founded in 2005. The company has invested in almost 100 startups. ZJ STIC has also launched the RMB 1 billion Zhangjiang Sino-Century Venture Capital Fund, which invests primarily in the sectors of advanced manufacturing, energy conservation, environmental protection, etc.

Arthur Kosten is an adviser for Booking.com and other companies like Festicket and eVentures Africa Fund.  He was the former CMO and co-founder of Booking.com. Together with other business angels and VCs, he generally invests about US$200,000 to US$1 million in various marketplace platforms for expansion in Europe. He is also an investor and board member of rentalcars.com, catawiki.com, treatwell, 8fit.com, festicket and healthcare.com.

Founded in 2007 under the Chinese Fortune 500 company DunAn Group, the investment group manages total fund of RMB 6 billion today, with successful investment in 77 Chinese startups across multiple sectors including healthcare, advanced manufacturing, energy & cleantech, etc. It was nominated for “Top 10 Zhengjiang Investment Group” for seven years in a row and was awarded for “Chinese VC of Best Potential” in 2016 – 2017 by thecapital.com.cn.  

Founded in 1995, Shenzhen Sunrise New Energy Co. Ltd., formerly known as Shenzhen Rainbow Fine Chemical Industry Co. Ltd., was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2008. Its main lines of business include Lithium-ion battery, photovoltaic power generation and New Energy bus operation. In 2016, it set up a fund to invest in autonomous driving, wireless charging, advanced parking management, artificial intelligence and robotics sectors.

Zriser Group is a Valencia-based family office fund started in 2007 by Ana and Pablo Serratosa Luján as a way to diversify their family investment strategy. The decision led to a diversified asset management scheme previously based on corporate acquisitions, then to a diversified portfolio of business and real estate investments.The firm has invested to date in eight tech-startups in the Spanish ecosystem.

Founded in 2007 in Shanghai, CTC Capital currently has branches in Beijing, Suzhou and Taipei. The company invests in both US dollars and RMB and has three funds under its management. It mainly targets the TMT, clean energy and consumer product sectors. Half of its management team have many years experience working in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. In 2019, CTC Capital set up the Guodiao Guoxin Zhixin Fund to invest in the semiconductor integrated circuit sector.

Patrick Walujo is the co-founder of Indonesian hedge fund Northstar Group. He had previously worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in London and New York before moving to Tokyo to join Pacific Capital Group. Ever since establishing Northstar Group in 2003, Patrick has overseen acquisitions and investments in notable Indonesian enterprises, including minimarket chain Alfamart, movie theater franchise Blitz Megaplex (now CGV Blitz after an investment from Korea's CJ CGV chain) and Equator Securities.

Launched in 2013, Japan’s Rakuten Capital is the corporate venture capital arm of conglomerate Rakuten. It manages a range of funds, such as the early-stage Rakuten Ventures, Rakuten Fintech Fund, and Rakuten Mobility Investments. Its portfolio covers a broad range of companies, including C2C e-commerce platform Carousell, ride-hailing unicorn Gojek, and video game vouchers platform CodaPay. Notable exits include the IPOs of US-based ride hailing company Lyft and image sharing site Pinterest.
