Established in 2017 in the UK, Firstminute Capital's investments are founders-driven, rather than by investment sectors. The early-stage venture capital firm has already invested in 32 companies in the US, UK, mainland Europe and Israel. In mid-2018, it raised its first fund of US$100m from 30 unicorns. Recent investments include in the Series A round of tax reclaim company Wevat, in peer-to-peer (P2P) fiat to crypto exchange platform Ramp's pre-seed round and in the seed round of cannabis e-commerce site Miss Grass. 

Mubadala was founded in 2017 and was directly listed as a Public Joint Stock Company, merging the Mubadala Development Company and the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC).Mubadala is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with approximately $299bn assets under management and operations across 50 countries. Mubadala owns the Advanced Technology Investment Company (ATIC), a firm acting as an investment vehicle in high technology sectors.

Founded in 2006, Abacus Alpha is a German VC that has invested in water or industry service companies instead of the typical tech startups. Based in Frankenthal, Rheinland-Pfalz, it is the investment arm of German multinational, KSB Group, a pump and valve producer. Its most recent investments were the 2019 undisclosed seed funding of industrial tech company Applied Nano Services, the 2018 undisclosed seed round in desalination innovator Salinova and the 2017 undisclosed seed investment in AddVolt, pioneer of renewable energy generation technology to replace diesel engines for cold chain transport.

Founded in 2010, TA Ventures is a VC headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine. Since 2010 the firm invests in companies based in the United States and Europe developing cutting-edge technology startups in the field of digital health, mobility, SaaS and fintech. The fund typically invests in Seed stage with an average ticket size between $250,000 to $500,000 and Series A rounds up to $1mn. The team is based in Ukraine, supporting portfolio startups in building cost-effective R&D Centers in Ukraine.

Founded in 2018, Oslo-based Katapult Ocean is the first investor focused entirely on oceantech and related startups. The VC also operates a three-month accelerator and has invested in 32 startups from 17 countries worldwide.The VC typically invests at the seed or pre-seed level but in July 2020 it completed its first Series A round of $8.5m investment in Chilean social enterprise Betterfly. Other recent investments include the pre-seed rounds of US foodtech GreenCover and Dutch offshore solar tech SolarDuck.

Ufi Ventures is the investment arm of Ufi VocTech Trust, a UK-based grant-funding body created following the sale of Learndirect in 2010. With an initial fund of £50m, the organization is focussed on delivering an increase in the scale of vocational learning. The firm can invest from £150,000 to £1m as equity or debt in early-stage companies. To date, its disclosed investments include many UK public-private training initiatives, plus seed investments in two tech startups: soft-skills VR software Bodyswaps (£470,000) and childcare marketplace Kinderly (£325,000). 

Jeffrey Leiden is a physician and scientist of more than 40 years, who is currently the executive chairman of US-based multinational biotech company Vertex Pharmaceuticals.  Leiden is also the chairman of Casana, a remote healthcare platform and the chairman of Tmunity, a biotech dedicated to T-cell research. In March 2021, he participated as an angel investor in the $48m Series A round of Dutch cell-based meat startup Meatable which leverages pluripotent stem cells for the first time in foodtech. 

Adidas is a German multinational corporation manufacturing shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and the second-largest in the world, after Nike. The Adidas brand is part of the Adidas Group which also includes Reebok sportswear company, a 8.33% stake in football club Bayern München and also has interest in Runtastic, an Austrian fitness technology company. Total revenue exceeded €21bn in 2018.

Lanzadera was founded in 2013 by entrepreneur Juan Roig, Spain's third richest individual and the CEO and biggest single shareholder of the country's largest supermarket group, Mercadona. Roig personally keeps track of the performance of the startups managed by the business incubator and accelerator based in Valencia, Spain.Lanzadera has invested €21m in almost 200 tech startups and consumer-focused offline businesses. To date, it has completed one exit via Groupify. Since 2016, Lanzadera has also specialized in video game development with Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain. The Lanzadera programs include training and assessments over a period of 9–11 months at its attractive Valencia marina location. 

Founded in 2013, Sino-Ocean Capital is the investment arm of the Chinese real estate developer Sino-Ocean Group. It mainly invests in the sectors of big data, healthcare, logistics, environmental protection, real estate and finance. It currently manages RMB 50bn worth assets and $700m US dollar funds. The limited partners include insurance companies, large-sized enterprises and sovereign wealth funds.In 2019, Sino-Ocean Capital launched a RMB 3-5bn fund to acquire logistics properties and planned to invest RMB 48bn in logistics over the next five years. It also on the track to raise $1.5bn for its latest real estate fund to invest in offices in Beijing. 

Citi Ventures is the San Francisco-based investing arm of the multinational banking group Citibank. It was founded in 2010 and invests in US-based tech startups with a financial sector focus at all investment stages.  It currently has 80 companies in its portfolio and has managed 13 exits to date. Its most recent investments were in six startups in March 2021. These included contributing to the $3m seed round of co-parenting financial planning platform Ensemble, in the $130m Series D round of on-demand notary service Notorize and in the $200m Series D round of Feedzai, the world market leader in fighting online fraud. 

Visa is a US-based financial services company best known for its electronic payment system used worldwide for credit and debit cards. As the operator of the payment service, it also provides security and risk management solutions. It is listed in the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker code V.The firm prefers to invest and partner with innovative early-stage firms in the payments, fintech and emerging technology spaces to advance Visa's strategic and financial objectives. Some of its investments include Indonesian ride-hailing and payment super-app Gojek, cybersecurity firms MagicCube and LoginID, payment platforms Klarna and Flutterwave, as well as digital banking platform Greenwood Bank.

Indexa Capital is Spain's first automated investment manager offering index funds. Its operations are based on passive investment management. The firm's objective is to offer diversified and transparent investments with commissions that are 80% lower than those charged by the financial sector. This is achieved through index funds investments and a machine that automatically assigns clients a portfolio from the available options, based on criteria such as the client's age, income and risk aversion, promising returns that are 3% higher than the average returns offered by banks and funds.The company was founded in 2015 by Unai Ansejo Barra, François Derbaix and Ramón Blanco, all of whom have extensive experience in the digital and investments ecosystems.  

Lakestar is an international VC firm headquartered in Zurich. Founded in 2012 by Klaus Hommels, the VC has been an active early-stage investor since 2000. Its first fund was established in 2013 to invest in fast-growing tech startups across Europe and the US like Skype, Spotify, Facebook and Airbnb. The firm has offices in Zurich, Berlin, London, New York and Hong Kong with total investments of more than €1bn. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020, Lakestar managed to raise a total of $735m for early and growth stage funds to be invested mainly in Europe. One-third of the funds will be designated to early-stage investments and two-thirds to growth-stage companies to drive international expansion. Part of the capital will also be used to strengthen the leadership team.

Established in 2015, Unovis Asset Management is a New York-based investor focussed on the alternative protein sector. It has raised two funds to date, the New Crop Capital Trust and The Alternative Protein Fund. It aims to transform the global food system by investing in solutions that facilitate sustained behavioral change and eliminate the consumption of animal protein products. It partners with entrepreneurs developing innovative plant-based and cultivated replacements to animal products, including meat, seafood, dairy and eggs. It currently has 33 companies in its portfolio and has managed three exits to date including Beyond Meat. Its recent investments include the undisclosed convertible note round of Spanish plant-based meat startup Foods for Tomorrow in May 2020 and in the $28m seed round of US plant-based startup Alpha Foods in February 2020.
