Sérgio Pereira is an independent innovation expert at the European Commission, assisting with research and innovation assignments including policy design, monitoring of projects and the evaluation of various programs and proposals. He graduated with a master's in Computer Science at the New University of Lisbon and started his career as a consultant at Accenture. The Portuguese co-founder of StudentFinance has been working as CTO at the fintech since 2019. Prior to this, he founded Tech HQ as CTO of the tech consultancy where he continues to work part-time. Pereira has also worked as CTO at Boston-based student finance and talent platform FutureFuel. The serial entrepreneur has also co-founded Clickly, a Dutch content discovery platform and sportstech Goalstat. 

Alejandro Wonenburger García came up with the idea for Plant on Demand (POD) during a research project for his joint master’s degree studies in Finland and the Netherlands.He specialized in International Business at SeAMK (Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences) in western Finland from 2013–17. He was based in the Netherlands during 2015–16 to read Strategic Management and International Business Management at Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences in Limburg. He speaks six European languages including Dutch.Since 2018, the Spanish co-founder of POD has taken on the roles of project coordinator and chief commercial officer. The POD agrifood marketplace and online management platform is specially designed for the needs of small-scale farmers.

Patricia Aymà Maldonado is the Spanish CTO and co-founder of 100% biodegradable plastic tech VEnvirotech, where she has worked since 2017. Before this, she had completed a year’s stint working in circular-economy R&D projects at LEILAT Technological Center and in 2016 she completed her master’s research at the University of Barcelona. This was in the field of environmental biotechnology, namely polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). Aymà has considerable training in biotechnology with a master’s in environmental engineering in 2016 from the University of Barcelona and a first degree in the subject from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. In 2017, she also gained entry to the youth entrepreneurship acceleration program Yuzz Santander, a Santander Bank initiative. 

Money Forward is a Japanese fintech startup that provides software for corporate accounting and personal finance management. The company has been listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange since late 2017.

Famous techpreneur Li Yinan (b. 1970) is the former CTO of Baidu and former CEO of Wuxian Xunqi, a China Mobile subsidiary. After Li graduated from Huazhong University of Science & Technology with a master’s degree in Optics Engineering, he joined Huawei and was promoted to vice-president of its Central Research Department in just six months; in 1997 Li because the youngest vice-president at Huawei. In 2001, Li quit Huawei and started his own data communication company, Harbour Networks, which followed the same structure of Huawei and soon became its main competitor. In 2005, Harbour Networks lost in its intense battle with Huawei and was acquired by the larger player. Even though Li rejoined Huawei after the acquisition, he was never able to re-enter the core management team because of his damaged relationship with Ren Zhengfei, the founder and president of Huawei. In April 2015, Li founded his smart e-scooter company, NIU Smart Scooters. Li began investing in 2010 and joined GSR Ventures in 2011. Up to June 2015, Li had invested in more than 10 companies from the TMT sector. Li stood trial for insider trading in March 2016, according to news reports.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an international NGO operating across over 100 countries with projects initially focused on the protection of endangered species, which later expanded into other areas like the preservation of biological diversity, protection of natural resources, and the mitigation of climate change. It is considered the world's largest conservation organization, working with a network of different NGOs, governments, scientists, companies, local communities, investment banks, fishermen and farmers. The WWF was founded in 1961 and 55% of its funding comes from individuals and bequests, 19% from government sources, and 8% from corporations. With more than $1bn in investment capital, WWF has supported more than 12,000 conservation initiatives with over 5m supporters worldwide. The institution has been often criticized for not campaigning objectively because of its strong ties with multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola, Lafarge, and IKEA. In 2019 the institution reported 4% of its total operating revenue coming from corporations. 

Made Dimas Astra Wijaya was a former assistant vice president at the Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He left the bank after four years in 2015 and joined Jay Jayawijayaningtyas to set up Ahlijasa. He has an Information Systems degree from the Singapore Management University and a master’s in Computing from the National University of Singapore.

Universitas Tarumanagara graduate Roby Tan is well known as the founder and director of PT Mitra Komunikasi Nusantara (MKN). The MKN telecom group operates Tele Ring, GraPari and Telkomsel Distribution Centers. MKN is also one of the largest Samsung and OPPO smartphone distributors in Indonesia. MKN was also an investor in Kioson, prior to the IPO.

While studying at Telkom University in Indonesia, Utari Octavianty worked in the marketing department of the telecoms company Telkom and also as a secretary at the university. She graduated with a Business degree in 2015 and co-founded PasarLaut.com. She later became the Chief General Affairs Officer of Aruna, a fishery tech startup that evolved from PasarLaut.com.

Launched in 2015 in Brussels, EIT Food was established by the not-for-profit European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) and funded by the European Union as an investor and accelerator. Its aim is to support mainly European startups in foodtech areas ranging from traceability to alternative proteins, with sustainability a key deciding factor in the startups it backs from pre-seed to Series-B level. The organization currently has 55 startups in its portfolio, which raised more than €91m in investments in 2020. Its most recent investments include 700,000 Swiss francs (€637,000) in the seed round in January 2021 of Swiss biotech SwissDeCode, a company that applies DNA testing to food traceability. Another investment was the December 2020 €900,000 seed round of Spanish compostable-packaging tech Food Sourcing Specialists.

Kingfisher is a privately owned, and independently managed financial services firm active for nearly three decades. The firm was established in Charlotte in the US in 1989 and acquired by WealthTrust, LLC in 2004. In 2009, it returned to operate as an independent investment adviser under the name of Kingfisher Capital, LLC and purchased all outstanding ownership interest from WealthTrust LLC. Kingfisher has supported affluent families, professionals, business owners, and institutions through financial advisory, smart investments and personalized client service.The firm is currently led by managing partners and co-founders Alexander Miles and H K Hallett. Prior to founding Kingfisher,  Miles worked at WealthTrust Advisors, the Myers Limited Partnerships and Lehman Brothers in New York. Hallett worked for Trust Company Bank of Georgia and Peoples Bank of North Carolina before joining Carolina Securities Corporation, where he co-managed the Charlotte office. 

The owner of WeChat, Tencent is China's biggest online entertainment and social network company. While the company is best known for QQ and WeChat (with 846m active users, and counting), online gaming is actually its biggest money-spinner. Within China, Tencent is the distributor of various international online game titles, such as League of Legends and Call of Duty Online. The company also publishes Honor of Kings, known as Arena of Valor outside China, which regularly tops the list of highest-grossing mobile games globally.Tencent has invested in various gaming-related companies, including Epic Games (creator of Fortnite and the Unreal Engine creation framework), PlatinumGames (Japanese game developer), and Riot Games (creator of League of Legends). Outside of video games, it has developed and invested in products related to video streaming, such as bilibili and Kuaishou, music (JOOX), and even healthcare.

Dimosthenis Karatzas is Senior Research Fellow and Associate Director at the Computer Vision Centre (CVC) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He specializes in computer vision, document image analysis and color science. In 2007, he co-founded TruColour in the UK, where he currently is a member of the board of directors. In 2013, he was awarded the IAPR/ICDAR Young Investigator Award “for outstanding service and innovative research in human perception-based document analysis.” Karatzas also worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and University of Southampton in the UK. Since 2019, he has been part of the co-founding team of Allread MLT, a deep-tech startup that converts text, symbols and codes to Big Data using computer vision technology, character recognition and machine learning.

He is also a member of the investment committee of Inveready First II SCR that manages assets worth €20 million.
