Co-founder and CTO of Storial
Sofia Lu graduated in Information Technology in 2012 at Bina Nusantara University. She has also worked as a teaching assistant and researcher at the university during her degree course. In July 2013, she joined online travel agency Tiket.com as a lead developer. In 2015, her passion for books eventually led her to become the CTO and co-founder of Storial, a digital storytelling portal for writers.

Portuguese national Sofia Nunes holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the Higher Institute of Applied Psychology in Lisbon and a master’s in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently head of Talent & Culture at Mambu, a startup she co-founded, where she supports a growing team of engineers, application specialists, salespeople and marketers. In 2010, Nunes worked as a Human-Computer Interaction researcher at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology.

Former journalist Sofia Simões de Almeida graduated from New University of Lisbon with degrees in Law and Communication Sciences. In 2010, she became a founding member and editor at Lead Magazine. After working at Human Resources Portugal in Lisbon, she founded HR startup "Make it Happy" in 2012 that was incubated at Startup Lisboa.In 2014, she co-founded Line Health and worked at the healthtech as COO until the company was closed down in 2018. Currently based in Berlin, she is now the head of Feed Rocket, an online marketing tool launched by Visual Meta Business Labs.

Pessanha co-founded Unbabel in 2013 and was its CMO, before leaving the startup in August 2016 to join healthcare marketplace Care Revolutions as COO in Los Angeles. She is also a co-founder of Lisbon-based accelerator and NGO Beta-i and of energy tech startup ActualSun and was also Director at the Founder Institute in Lisbon. Pessanha majored in Business Administration at the New University of Lisbon. She also spent three years working at tech company TIMWETECH, in product marketing and business development.

In 2019 Future Positive raised over $57m pan-European impact investment fund, claiming that most European VCs are continuing to staying focused on sectors, such as consumer, fintech, and marketing, or web and mobile technologies. Future Positive’s belief is that there is instead, a long-tail of investment opportunities to back businesses that actually tackle “the world’s most pressing problems”.Through this fund, it will back throughout Seed and Series A stages, with the possibility to follow up on Series B investing between around €300,000 and €5m. Since then the company has backed startups in the like of BioBeats, an AI company focused on preventative mental health, cell-based startup Meatable, and more recently NotCo, the Chilean unicorn disrupting the food and beverage sector with AI-enabled plant-based products.The team counts on an extensive network of mentors, innovators, impact angel investors and entrepreneurs such as F1 pilots Nico Rosberg, the MD of Alibaba France Sebastien Badault, the Omid Ashtari the President of Citymapper amongst others.
