CTO and co-founder of Plant on Demand
Sergi Roca Puertas obtained a bachelor’s degree (2014) and a master’s (2016) in Industrial Technology Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His master’s included Industrial Engineering at Finland’s Tampere University of Technology, where he participated in the research of glass fibers.In 2016, he also studied Foreign Trade, Logistics and Supply Management at Euroinnova Business School in Granada and completed work experience as a trading engineer at Madrid-based KL2B.Currently based in San Francisco bay area, he has been working as a deployment strategist at AI-powered analytics and marketing startup Jetlore in Silicon Valley since November 2016. Earlier, he spent two years at the local government business promotion organization Barcelona Activa's Entrepreneur's With Ideas training program, where Food for Tomorrow’s business and Heura foods product ideas were conceived. Coloma's background includes stints at a Catalonian animal charity and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in project work and fundraising respectively, and as COO of a catering company. Akbar Vahidi is an Iranian researcher turned entrepreneur based in Singapore. After graduating in 2010 with a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, he pursued a PhD in chemical and biomolecular engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Vahidi earned his PhD in 2015 and briefly worked as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University before returning to NUS to pursue research.At NUS, he was a part of a research group that developed a new enzyme screening method based on microfluidics technology. With fellow NUS PhD graduate Peyman Salehian, Vahidi secured an exclusive license to use the technology and established Allozymes, a startup that offers enzyme engineering services. Vahidi became the CTO of Allozymes.
