Co-founder, CEO of Higo Sense
Łukasz Krasnopolski is the Polish CEO and co-founder of medtech diagnostic hardware and app Higo Sense, where he has worked full-time since 2017. He has also been the CEO of Polish tech incubator ToReforge since 2015 and is a co-founder at gaming developer Walkabout Games, established in 2017. Krasnopolski has also been the owner of internet marketing agency Red2black since 2007 and was founder and co-owner at e-commerce-for-children startup more4kids.pl between 2008 and 2012, when he exited the company that is now listed on the Polish stock exchange. Hawa Traore is CEO and co-founder at Teliman, Mali’s first on-demand mobility startup and one of francophone Africa’s first, where she has worked since its launch in 2018. She initially worked as COO for one year before becoming CEO. Before that, Traore worked as an engineer at one of Europe’s largest nuclear power plants, the European Pressurized Reactor (EPR) Flamanville 3 in France, for 4.5 years in construction planning and in project management. Previously, Traore completed a stint at Zodiac Aerospace as an engineer testing the life cycle of Airbus A320-200 cabins. The Malian national has a degree in mechanical and industrial engineering from Paris’ École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Metiers and also holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.

One of his ongoing research projects primarily deals with the conversion of agricultural waste into biochar, a form of charcoal that can act as a feedstock for making activated carbon and for sequestering carbon.In 2017, Kwong and two PhD students in his research group, Ben Morton and Lewis Dunnigan, began commercialization of the waste-to-activated carbon technology they had developed. A spin-off company called Bygen was established, with Dunnigan and Morton leading the startup. Kwong is a co-founder and technical advisor of the company.

Ex-Googler Li Zhifei ("Watch Bro") is founder and CEO of advanced voice recognition tech startup Mobvoi, producer of the bestselling TicWatch smartwatch. After graduating from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Li worked at MobileSoft on WAP and Bluetooth-related projects from 1999-2002. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in 2010. At JHU, he built Joshua, an open-source software for machine translation. Li joined Google in 2010, where he helped create Google's mobile offline translation system. Inspired by the launch and success of Siri released in 2012, he left Google and returned to China to found Mobvoi end-2012.

From 2002–2011, Alcaide was also founder and manager of a co-operative pub. Alcaide studied Business Administration and Accounting at Laurona Institute of Professional Training near Valencia and is fluent in sign language.

The agritech startup set up its first office in Accra to provide an e-commerce platform, supply-chain and fintech services to smallholder farmers in Ghana.

Tessa Wijaya joined Indonesian fintech Xendit as co-founder and COO in 2016, a year after the payment gateway startup graduated from the Y Combinator program and launched its platform in Indonesia.Wijaya obtained a master’s in philosophy from the University of Sydney in 2006 after graduating from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs in 2003. She returned to Indonesia and worked as a corporate development officer for over three years. In 2010, she became an analyst at Principia Management Group and Fairways Investment Group, both being Southeast Asia-focused investment firms. In 2013, Wijaya went on to work as an associate at Singapore-based investment firm Mizuho Asia Partners for over three years before joining Xendit back in Jakarta.
