Born in 1961, Li Zexiang was an undergraduate at Central South Institute of Mining Metallurgy in 1978. From 1979 to 1992, he studied and worked in the US, earning a doctoral degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 1989. He worked as an AILab researcher at MIT in 1989. In 1990, he joined NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences as an associate professor.In 1992, he returned to China and worked as a professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ever since. In 1999, he founded motor control company Googol Tech. He is well-known for incubating DJI and became the chairman of Shenzhen-based drone and aerial photography systems company.

Zhang Haoqian completed a doctorate degree in systems and synthetic biology at Peking University in 2016. He has published more than 20 papers in international academic journals. In 2019, he was honored as one of China's 100 Most Creative People in Business. He is also a member of the Synthetic Biology Committee under China Society of Biotechnology.Peking University has participated in the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competitions, with Zhang as a team member or leader between 2008 and 2010. The team has won gold medals twice at the iGEM competitions supported by MIT. He was also coaching the university’s iGEM team from 2011 until 2017. Zhang also founded the committee of China iGEMer Community.In 2010, Zhang met fellow iGEMer and Bluepha co-founder Li Teng at the iGEM giant jamboree event. They co-founded SynBio startup Bluepha in 2016, a spin-off from Tsinghua University.

Yu is the founder and chairman of NYSE-listed New Oriental Education & Technology Group. Upon graduating from Peking University with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1985, he started teaching English at his alma mater. Yu resigned from the university in 1991 and, two years later, founded the New Oriental School, where students learned how to pass the TOEFL exam or score high on the GRE. In 2014, he co-founded Hongtai Capital Holdings (Aplus Capital), which manages over RMB 20 billion in assets, with fellow entrepreneur Sheng Xitai. As an angel investor, Yu invests mainly in edtech startups. 

Founder of ICOAGE, a popular Chinese initial coin offering platform, and ChainB.com, which used to be China’s largest  blockchain-specific portal.Known in the blockchain field as “Baozou Gongqinwang,” Gong graduated from Shanghai University with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science.

Chu Ge is a founding partner of Happy Together (Chunguangli), a startup incubator and venture capital firm focusing on internet projects. Formerly creative director at Bates and Ogilvy, he was also a guest lecturer at Communication University of China. He has been listed as one of China’s 50 most influential creators.

Warren Shaeffer is the co-founder of online video community Vidme. He was also COO of SocialEngine, co-founded by Vidme co-founder Alex Benzer. He had also worked at Golden Gate Capital and JPMorgan. Shaeffer received his bachelor’s degree in Government from Harvard University and was a Detur Book Prize recipient.

Alex Benzer is the co-founder of online video community Vidme and the co-creator of Curate LA and Represent LA. Previously, he co-founded SocialEngine and Fanmix. Benzer received his bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship from University of Redlands. As an undergraduate, he won the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award for Entrepreneurship.

Prime Mont V.C is a private equity manager focused on investing in businesses with public listing potential and and in the integration, merger and reorganization of businesses in the Greater China capital markets. The team includes Institute of Economics (CASS) Deputy Director and Peking University HSBC Business School Professor Zhang Ping as its chief strategy officer.

Former investment banker Tian Jiangchuan is co-founder of Initial Venture Capital, which focuses on early-stage investment in the mobile internet, O2O, e-commerce and education sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of London, and was an associate director at UBS. Tian was born in 1987.

Founder of NYSE-listed Chinese online classifieds/marketplace giant 58.com, Yao Jinbo graduated from China Ocean University in 1999 with dual degrees in computer science and chemistry. He founded 58.com in 2005. He has experience in network marketing, network channel development and domain name strategy. Yao also co-founded Xueda Education Group.

Born in Shanghai in 1973, Zhang and his parents immigrated to the US in 1987. He received his bachelor’s in Neurobiology from the University of California, San Francisco in 1995 and his master’s in Biotechnology and Business from Northwestern University in 1999. Zhang worked at Salomon Smith Barney and ABN AMRO Capital from 1999–2001. He then served as managing director and head of China operations at venture capital firm WI Harper Group from 2002–2008. Zhang has since served as founding managing partner at Matrix Partners China.

Established in 2013, Danhua Capital is one of the most influential venture capital funds in Silicon Valley. Founded by Chinese Americans, Danhua Capital invests primarily in early-stage and growth-stage startups with disruptive technologies or business models.Founder Zhang Shoucheng is a well-known physicist and a tenured professor at Stanford University.

Andy Zain is a veteran businessman, executive and angel investor. The Monash University graduate worked in management roles in various Indonesian tech companies and also co-founded companies like Elastisitas and Numedia Global. He is well-known as a founding partner and managing director at VC Kejora Ventures. Andy is also part of ANGIN, the Indonesian network of angel investors that collaborates with Grupara Ventures.
