China Renaissance offers private placement advisory, M&A advisory, securities underwriting, research, sales and trading, investment management and other financial services. It has clients in mainland China, Hong Kong and the United States as well as offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and New York. China Renaissance has facilitated more than 300 private financial transactions collectively valued at over US$20 billion.

With over 900 employees, WPS has offices in mainland China, Hong Kong and the US.

Portuguese venture capital firm Best Horizon was established in 2014. Since then, its portfolio has grown to about 50 companies based in Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Brazil and the US. The firm has €3m in two investment vehicles for pre-seed and seed investments in tech companies that either have their headquarters or a subsidiary in the North, Centre, Alentejo and Azores regions of Portugal.

Based in Madrid, Ultano Kindelan works at US-based monetization platform Fyber as VP for Sales covering various regions. He has over 15 years of experience in digital advertising and adtech. He previously worked at Madrid-based Falk Realtime adtech.  In 2017, he participated in the first seed round of Spanish AI-driven femtech WOOM, his only disclosed investment to date.

The earliest backer of Xiaomi and an early investor in YY, Morningside Venture Capital started in 2008 and is part of HK real estate tycoon Ronnie Chan's Morningside Group. Today, led by Richard Liu, the early-stage investor has over US$1.5 billion under management and counts among its other successful investments Sohu, Ctrip, Xunlei and China Distance Education. It has offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.

Serial entrepreneur Cristina Fonseca co-founded VEEP and Bouncely in Lisbon, Portugal, and co-founded Talkdesk in San Francisco, California, US. She left Talkdesk in February 2016 and is currently a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Europe. Fonseca was listed on Forbes’s 30 under 30 in 2016. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Network and Telecommunications from Instituto Superior Tecnico.

Founded in 2013, Gaorong Capital is based in Beijing, with an additional office in Hong Kong. It invests primarily in early-stage and growth-stage startups in the TMT sector. Gaorong Capital’s backers include successful entrepreneurs and former investors in other world-class funds. It runs four US$ investment funds, three RMB investment funds and manages around RMB 11 billion.

Founded in 2003, Hina Group is an investment bank that provides financial consulting services. It has helped more than 180 companies close their funding and perform M&As. The total value of these transactions is US$56 billion. Hina Group oversaw Alibaba’s acquisition of Ele.me and the merger Qunar.com and Ctrip. Hina Group manages over RMB 10 billion. It has invested in unicorns such as Hujiang.com and Youbao.

Founded in Beijing in 2010 with a registered capital of RMB 12m, Hongdao Capital manages six RMB funds and one US dollar fund, totaling RMB 2bn. It has invested in over 80 companies, including unicorns Ofo, WeDoctor, Wecash, and Renrendai.com. The sectors it has invested in include, internet-based finance, corporate services, healthcare and AI. Its investment size ranges from RMB 500,000 to RMB 50m. 

S2 Capital was founded by Y Combinator alums Sohail Prasad, Samvit Ramadurgam and Ritik Malhotra. The founders of S2 Capital have mostly invested in the US, leveraging their relationships with startups there, both before and during their time at Y Combinator. Payfazz is a notable exception in S2 Capital's portfolio, being the first startup from Indonesia to have participated in the Y Combinator program.

Bright Pixel is a Portuguese company of angel investors, established in 2016, owned by the investment division of one of Portugal's largest companies, retailer Sonae Group.To date, it has invested in six companies at the early-stage. Its most recent investments include in the €2m seed round of US security tech Fyde and in the €550,000 seed round of Portuguese online security tech Probely.

Forebright Capital originates from the PE investment team established in 2001 under the state-owned China Everbright which is listed in Hong Kong. Everbright was spun off in May 2014 as an independent company. With money raised from institutional investors and family offices at home and abroad, Forebright Capital currently manages four US-dollar funds. It mainly invests in sectors of clean energy, healthcare and fintech.

CEMEX Ventures is the investment arm of global Mexican cement giant CEMEX and was established in 2017 with offices in Mexico, Spain, Colombia and China. It focuses exclusively on tech and non-tech solutions to painpoints in the construction sector. Every year, together with global management consultant Boston Consulting Group and startup monitoring platform Tracxn, it names its 50 Most Promising Startups in the Construction Ecosystem, investing in a few of the companies cited. It currently has 12 companies in its portfolio.Its most recent investments have included an undisclosed contribution to the funding round of US soil marketplace Soil Connect in 4Q 2020 and in the $1.7m July 2020 Series A round of US recycling company Arqlite.
