Sandeep Aggarwal is a serial entrepreneur with an MBA from Washington University at St. Louis, USA. He worked at Microsoft and Citibank before returning to India in 2011 to establish ShopClues, India’s first online managed marketplace and the country’s fifth unicorn in the consumer internet sector . In 2014, he also founded an automotive e-commerce site Droom, where he currently serves as CEO. He recently became an angel investor and plans to invest US$3 million in 2017.

Founded by Wu Yongming, a co-founder of Alibaba, and Wang Qi in 2015. With nearly RMB 2 billion under management, Vision Plus Capital invests in startups mainly in their Series A and Series B financing rounds.

Bynd Venture Capital is a Portuguese seed/early-stage VC firm that changed its name from Busy Angels in 2019 and opened a new €10M investment fund, with Didimo its first recipient. Busy Angels' more than 30-strong portfolio has passed under Bynd's stewardship. Bynd is led by former senior corporate executives and counts among its shareholders former Cabinet minister Luís Mira Amaral and corporate entities Danone, P&G and Pepsi. Busy Angels was founded in 2010 in Lisbon and concentrates on seed and early-stage B2B and B2C startups doing business in Portugal and/or Spain. DefinedCrowd and Zaask! are among its best known portfolio companies.

Founded in 2014, Frankfurt-based CommerzVentures operates as the VC arm of Commerzbank AG. The firm invests mainly in early- and growth-stage startups from Series A onward. Its portfolio features fintech companies such as PayKey and Marqeta.

Founded in 2010, Runa Capital is an early-stage VC that invests across North America, Asia and Europe. It manages funds worth US$270m and has invested in more than 40 companies, primarily in the healthcare, fintech, B2B SaaS and education sectors. The firm invested in Capptain, an app management platform acquired by Microsoft in 2014.

Frontline Ventures is a London-based VC firm that typically invests in early-stage B2B companies with the bulk of funding going toward European companies seeking a U.S. expansion. The current Fund II, worth €60 million, closed in 2016 and they are looking to make investments of between €200,000 and €3 million each.

Anthill Ventures is an accelerator VC firm that provides early stage investments and support services for pre-Series A startups to facilitate rapid growth based on a proprietary “Scalability Quotient” score. Based on 108 parameters, the SQ score is used by Anthill Ventures to evaluate a startup’s potential for quick scalability.

Founded in 2003, Ginkgo conducts equity investments in companies from the consumer product and internet sectors (mainly e-commerce, new media and fintech). 

Pathena is a Porto-based venture capital firm founded in 2010 and focuses on IT investments, particularly medtech. Pathena closed its first portfolio fund in 2011, having invested in 10 companies and it launched its current portfolio fund in 2013 worth €56 million.

The Woodford Patient Capital Trust is part of the larger group Woodford Funds. The company is based in Oxford and was formed in 2014, headed by veteran fund manager Neil Woodford. The Patient Capital Trust focuses on early- and early-growth-stage companies, with target returns of more than 10% yearly. The bulk of their portfolio comprises healthcare companies. 

Augmentum Capital was formed in 2009 by Tim Levene and Richard Matthews, with the backing of RIT Capital Partners, the investment trust chaired by Lord Rothschild (whose family owns 18% of the trust). Based in London, the investment firm focuses on fast-growing fintech companies in the UK and Europe, typically supporting Series A and Series B funding rounds.   

Well-known entrepreneur Yu Minhong and Sheng Xitai, a senior investment banker, co-founded Aplus Capital in November 2014. In November 2017, Aplus Capital formally changed its name to  Hongtai Capital Holdings. By the end of 2018, the assets under its management have amounted to over RMB 20 billion. Hongtai Capital Holdings mainly invests in startups in various stages of growth and focuses on sectors of artificial intelligence, big data, consumer products, entertainment, education, manufacturing and fintech. 

Ventech China is a unit of France’s Ventech Capital, based in Shanghai. Its focuses on mobile commerce, big data, communities and fintech. 

CRCM Ventures is a unit of US- and HK-listed ChinaRock Capital Management. Headquartered in San Francisco with branch offices in Palo Alto, Beijing and Hong Kong, CRCM Ventures invests in seed and early-stage Silicon Valley and China technology startups, with more than 20 years of experience in public and private investing.

Yunqi Partners was founded in 2014. It currently manages one USD fund and two RMB funds, which add up to about RMB 2 billion worth. The Yunqi team come from a range of sectors: TMT, mobile phone accessory manufacturing, financial services, advertising and video entertainment. Some are senior managers formerly from Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu and Focus Media.
