With the State Council’s approval, the China State-Owned VC Fund was established and financed by China Construction Bank Corporation, China Reform Holdings Corporation, Ltd. (CRHC), the Postal Savings Bank of China and Shenzhen Investment Holding Co., Ltd. in 2016. The fund had initial capital of RMB 100 billion, 34 billion of which came from state-owned CRHC, which is also the fund’s main sponsor and controlling shareholder. The China State-Owned VC Fund is committed to helping centrally-administered state companies develop by investing in technological upgrades in the fields of robotics, AI, big data, mobile finance, electric vehicles, new energy, etc.

Established in 2009, TCL Capital is the investment arm of TCL Corporation, which makes home appliances. TCL Capital has founded 12 venture capital funds in partnership with other stakeholders in China. Its assets under management are valued at billions of RMB. As of April 2017, it had invested in 76 startups, with an emphasis on display technology, high-end manufacturing, integrated circuits and high-end software services.

Founded in 2017 by Li Li, a former partner at K2VC, Next Capital invests mainly in early-stage startups. Next Capital manages around RMB 400 million. Investments range in value from RMB 3-30 million. In just its first year, Next Capital invested in more than 10 startups. It finances mainly Chinese internet innovations, especially in Fintech and new retail.

Founder and CEO of Liepin, a Chinese internet recruitment company, Dai makes individual angel investments.

XVC was founded in 2016 by Hu Boyu, a former entrepreneur and ex-partner at Blue Lake Capital. Hu has a “sniper” investment style. Aiming at only a few targets, he invested in multiple early-stage companies that became unicorns: Meicai, Youxinpai, Kuaishou, 51talk and Wandoujia (now owned by Alibaba). XVC is primarily interested in big opportunities in the TMT sector.

Bertelsmann, a German multinational corporation, was founded by Carl Bertelsmann as a publishing house in 1835. It is one of the world's largest mass media companies and is also active in the service and education sectors.

Backed by Temasek Holdings and United Overseas Bank, InnoVen Capital has offices in Mumbai, Singapore and China. InnoVen Capital is the largest provider of venture debt to venture capital firms in India. The firm’s China office was established in April 2017.

SeedRocket is one of the biggest networks of mentors and industry experts in Spain. Founded by Jesus Monleon and Vicente Arias, the firm offers mentorship, acceleration and seed funding programs of up to €150,000 per startup. SeedRocket is headquartered in Barcelona with a branch office in the Google Campus Madrid. SeedRocket has backed 160 startups with a total capital investment of €55 million, including five exits.

Avianta Capital is a private equity and venture capital firm helmed by Fernando Jamie-Fernández, who is also co-founder of the Madrid-based Bipi, a Spanish on-demand car rental app startup. Headquartered in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico, Avianta Capital also has a satellite office in Madrid to facilitate cross-border investments and operations between Spain and Latin America. 

Kibo Ventures is a Madrid-based venture capital firm founded in 2011 by Alquilino Peña, Jose Maria Amusategui and Javier Torremocha with €114 million under management. The firm is supported by a network of 31 international co-investors who offer access to foreign markets, especially to the US and Latin America, as well as digital-savvy operating partners who provide guidance on technology matters.    As of July 2018, Kibo had invested in 44 companies, five of which it has successfully exited, including Blink Booking (acquired by Groupon in 2013), Ducksboard (acquired by New Relic in 2014) and Trip4real (acquired by AirBnB in 2016).

Stella Maris Partners is a venture capital fund based in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico with a focus on the education, healthcare and financial services sectors. It invests in Mexican and foreign startups looking to expand to Mexico and Latin America. The firm was founded by Armando Badillo in 2012 and has four other managing partners, Angel Alvarez Cadaveico, Guillermo Zambrano Martinez, Jesus O. Lanza Losa and Marcelo Antonio Benitez Akbo.

Michael Widjaya was a partner at international consulting firm Accenture, but has since retired to become an angel investor. He has invested in (and was an advisor to) numerous Latin American businesses such as Guerra Creative and Itereo Travel.

Christopher Angkasa is an angel investor. He is a managing partner at angel investing firm Denali Partners and a co-founder of wealth consultancy firm Akara Capital. He also founded Clapham Collective, a coworking space in Medan that is now part of EV Hive.

Founded by Matt Hu (former head of asset management, China Securities) and John Wu (ex-Alibaba CTO and angel investor), Fenghe runs its PE/VC and hedge fund businesses out of Singapore and Shanghai.

Founded in 2012 in Japan, IMJ Investment Partners was a Singapore-based venture capital firm focusing on startups based in Southeast Asia and Japan. It had raised US$52 million in funding as a company under IMJ Corporation, one of the biggest digital agencies in Japan.  A new VC company Spiral Ventures Pte Ltd was established to takeover IMJ-IP after a successful management buyout led by IMJ-IP Managing Partner Yuji Horiguchi in 2017.
